8. Any modifications to manual transmission-None
9. Any modifications to transfer case-None
10. Fuel consumption 10-12 before the swap 12-14 now
11. Mods-CrawlBox between the H42 and the split case
12. An overdrive would be nice to have but larger tires will take care of that. The 3fe has A LOT more pep with a manual transmission behind it. there is a big weight difference in the Auto and the manual too. Overall it was a very easy swap that can be done by 2 people in a weekend if everything is ready to go in.

considering the huge increase in RPM at cruising speed between the 2 and the rather large increase in MPG that would go to show just how inefficient and wastefull the A440 really is

I will be joining this club, hopefully sooner rather than later. Can't wait to convert my US FZJ80 into manual transmission. Spent a good part of my childhood in Venezuela and learned to drive in an FJ40. Auto transmission is just not much fun.

Hello, anyone home?

Yep, I still keep an eye on it. I have since replaced my gear and transfer boxes, only mods I did were to separate the breathers for the diff lock motor and gear/trans box. Less condensation should be the end result, other than that the old girl is back on the road. Check out my thread in the sig line.

regards

Dave

I've had a 1994 1HD-T VX stock manual and my current one is a 1996 1HD-FT VX stock manual, both left hand drive, but i believe the vehicle of a very good friend of mine i am going to describe below is way more interesting as it cannot be seen much... ;)

1. Year and model truck = 1996 FZJ80 stock manual. Yes, manual :)
2. Engine = FZJ80, 4.5 gasoline, carburettor
3. Mileage = current around 240.000km, i.e. ~ 150K miles
4. Originally with manual or transmission swapped later - Original with manual transmission H151F

6. Transfer case - Full time or Part time - part time
7. Gearing - original 4.11
