Looks like a nice set of walkers in the as well. I like the walkers because the a 8.5" rim they look to a 1to 1.5" narrower then the racelines in the picture.
Great eye! Yep, I have Walker Evans Beads on my 40. They are narrorwer and fit the 40 better.
@Bhblaine I’m not sure I‘m a good reference point because my 80 seems to spec differently in the front than others. This shows up in using caster plates and getting more rotation than expected, subsequently running a single OME caster bushing to back caster off a degree (I’ve done this twice at 4” lift and 5.5“ lift), as well as seeming to have the front axle more forward than others. I use stock radius arms and the 38” Patagonia fits perfectly - all I did was hammer back the inner wheel well at an angle a little bit. All this stuff about using aftermarket arms to move the axle forward makes zero sense…on my rig.
Having said that, in the quoted post above, I will note again that I thought I could get these to fit fairly easily because the rounded tire tucks so much better into the 80’s wheel wells. I had a lot of experience with Trxus in that regard and it held true. I won’t run another tire, having a full size 38 without needing any major modifications is a more of a difference over 37’s than you’d think and it’s worth the work.
Some other specs and then some pics. I run a 17x8.5 rim with stock backspace and custom 3/4” spacers. I have clearances down to about 1/8” so I don’t think you can really mess with having 9” rims, etc. as that will make the tire too wide. I run Timbren bump stops front and rear and I’m not restricting travel at all over 37’s. I have some trimming to the rear of the wheel well and 3/8” longer lower rear control arms than stock. That trimming has been in place for 37’s and I did a very little bit of expansion for the 38’s. But I have no trimming to the front of the rear wheel well at all and the front outer fenders are unmodified except I’ve always run flareless. Last pic is clearances in the front wheel well.
More pics, including the those long Dobinsons VT coils with no coil bow at 5.5” of lift and proper driveshaft angle/caster. Third pic is just a little BFH hammer coaxing so the inner fender is angled for no rubbing at full crank including off-road. There’s nothing but air back there so that’s about as easy as it gets.
As far as I’m concerned, this is about as perfect a ’don’t hack it up’ setup as you can build. I‘m not doing 40’s because I hate the front fender chop, and the Patagonia is the best tire out there anyway if you keep it on a narrower rim so it’s only running on the inner 8” or so of tread. Quiet, smooth, awesome traction, excellent snow tire. And cheap. There is no way I could fit a squared off 38”, I barely have more trimming than I needed for tiny 37” ko2’s.

My oldest Daughter and her boyfriends new 80 series, they just moved up from 35's to 37's so we took it out on the trail for a fun day!

Yep these were taking at Tahuya, I've been going there for 30 years now, pretty cool place! I hadn't been there in about a year and man it's totally changed around, feels like new trails added and old one's modified etc.. I've run Tahuya dozens of times and this is by far the best I've seen it out there so far, just really cool trails, lots of flexy spots etc... Thanks for the props on the pics buddy, take care -Ken

37s doing stuff on trifecta!
Looking to go up to 37s running the Toyota Sequoia/Tundra wheel. Who is running these wheels and are you running spacers if so what size spacer?
