What were the trail conditions like on Black Bear Pass?

I have some video that I will try to edit in the next couple odd days. Trail was fine. Deep mud bog / holes at the top. Should be dry by labor day.
Black Bear is in good shape all the way. There are some deep ruts/mud holes just after the summit, but you should have no issues. I led a group at FJ Summit and we had one stock FJ make it through. I also have a video to edit/post. I would expect no issues at all by Labor Day. The Steps are in pretty good shape but there is one area where folks were sliding about 3 feet. The 4th switchback is much better this year after the county removed the large rock on the inside turn. This makes it a little less fun, but much safer for folks who have never done the trail before.
We have some big plans for 2016 and 2HIH. Sponsors have already contacted us and I was able to lock a few down during the FJ Summit. We will have everything in place and permits secured by early 2016. Expect a grand event!

What are the dates for the 2HIH?
Tentatively, August 2-4 2016.
Obviously, that can changed based on permits and logistics.

If you don't have this book I highly recommend it. Especially if you visit CO often. It includes Ouray trails. I will bring mine as well.

We're raffling 2 bumpers at this year's HIH. You can absolutely expect something similar for 2HIH in 2016. Guaranteed.
