OEM exhaust converter retainer melting? (1 Viewer)

Hi mud h8ers, I have a really stupid question. I am trying to close a leak in my exhaust system at the flange where the catalytic converter meets the muffler. Can the converter retainer on the exhaust system melt? My 1997 has a pretty rusty exhaust system, and I replaced the gasket, bolts, nuts, and retainer today with OEM parts to close the system, and I observed some metallic looking drippings coming from the area (see pictures).

Installed part numbers:

GASKET - 9091706043
BOLT - 9008010204
NUT - 9017906007
Exhaust Bracket - 1849576010

Any thoughts on what I am observing here?

Thanks in advance for any help!

@bigredmachine thanks you are totally right. The color match between the antisieze and the bracket had me convinced it was melting, but after inspecting the melting point of most metal parts, this would be essentially impossible... dumb start to my forum use... sorry about that lol
