Has anyone dealt with this one? There is no top on the door that faces the top.

The weatherstrip is actually on the top.

I’m assuming I’ll just hack up a normal one but was wondering what’s up

Last pic is a side by side with my 67 door

About 15 years ago I dug a set of doors out of my stash like these. I thought someone had cut the tops of so I figured they were good candidates to make half doors out of.

I removed the tops and cut the lowers down to half doors. Found out later I think they were stock like this until 63 or 64?

My '65 40 (early) has those doors and uses that type of weatherstripping on the top. So does the '63 45. That's what you do, you cut the top off a normal one and glue it to the roof channel.

the other difference is the height of the bugcatcher..

Yep these are the 17" upper VS. the later 16" upper. My 63 is the same way.

While I have the pros gathered here. Another question.

The steps are apart and this stamped material is aluminum and in great condition.

The white plastic material Lockwood has that people use to put in this space.

Is that stock that Toyota used plastic here or is it the closest thing to the original aluminum stamped material that likely rotted away due to being aluminum on steel?

Seems to me I would just have these pretty aluminum pieces coated white and roll on.

I think your running boards originally had white vinyl material with a pyramidal tread pattern. I suspect your aluminum material is a close substitute installed by a previous owner. If it cleans up well you could reuse it and move on.

Wish they still made it it gray - that’d be skookum with mirror arms, bumper, etc. I guess the white sort of matches the roof and bezel. :meh:

Chemical warfare (Ed’s red), heat (propane torch), fire (from Ed’s red igniting), banging with BFH (keep nut on), and time. I replaced pins anyhow with bushings.

Couple of things me and Mike at Cruiser Corps got educated on with these new SWB seats.

The drivers seat and the back of the paseenger seats are all the same in a FJ40, FJ45SWB and FJ45LPB.

The passenger bottom on the LPB has a larger bottom.

Never knew this.

Another thing.....the 1964 we are redoing the seats for did not have the metal backs.
I figured they were just missing and it was more 1/2 ass like the paint job.

well, there are no holes in the frames so it never had metal seat backs.

the 63 SWB I have is missing the metal backs but there are holes from where they used to be.

Crazy.
