Had codes for both O2 sensors and the cats.

Replaced the front O2 sensor with Densos (old one was 20 years old); all codes vanished. Been good for a week.

(I only had 10% of the total of both two nuts left on the front. Broke one stud and cross-treaded the other; so a stack of washers later and an aftermarket nut that would grab 3 threads and no codes. Temp fix; should last a few years...).

What is the heater resistance for the 2 types?
A resistor can be added in series to increase resistance seen by the driving circuit.
A resistor can be added in parallel to decrease resistance seen by the driving circuit.

Or, could just use the correct sensor?

Ohhh! Yer no fun!
OP wants to innovate over and above OEM parts, for the particular benefit of component lifetime under heavier duty conditions.
Sounds to me that he knows what he's doing, and why.
The one small roadblock of heater resistance should be solvable without heroic effort, seems to me.

p.s. Power dissipation of the added resistor must be calculated and factored in.

Installed on my 94 today and its running much better! Factory ones are rusted on so I used where the PAIR ssystem used to hook up

How have these Bosch 15728 o2's been working and holding up for all those using them? Liking the planar style approach to this o2 sensor problem for my 94......

I installed this one on mine JDM 93 cruiser, it's modem zirconium dioxide (OEM titanium dioxide) with the same resistance as OEM one, very cheap. One year no problem! With little mod, ground from the sensor should be connected to E2 ECU terminal, the easies way is connect to the shield insulation of signal wire from ECU under truck

For anyone curious. My CEL came on, code was oxygen sensors. I called Toyota, LH side was discontinued but they told me Denso made them for Toyota. They did have the right, but the parts guy told me I'd probably save some money if I just bought both Denso brand from an auto parts store.

I checked all the usual placed but could not find any in stock. Rock Auto had one left side in stock, so I ordered it.

Since I couldn't find the right in stock anywhere I called Toyota back and ordered it. Both came in yesterday. They are identical in length and appear to be identical in every other aspect - other than the white piece of tape on the Denso. I thought I'd read one side was supposed to have a longer lead? Install next. Hopefully it solves my CEL light.

BTW, Denso was only a few bucks cheaper than Toyota.
