...sorry you couldn't read the price.. It says, "$250.00" Now that's Can and that makes it about $215 US.

Let me know if anyone has any experience w/ them. I searched them here and found nothing bad.

...and CF.com, that's WaKFJ's list I have...to give her credit due.

Thanks again

Scott,

Do you know if 4Wheel auto's bolts are JIS?

That sure doesn't look like enough bolts for exterior / interior.

Before I forked over the money I would want to know how many nuts and bolts the kit has, if they are JIS Automotive, and a list of everything. If the picture is of the actual bolts, then it sure doesn't look like enough. Here are some numbers to think about: You need 28 bolts for ambulance doors, 10 bumperette and frame, 4 grill screws, 14 hardtop bolts, 6 hood hinge, 2 rear license plate, 2 rise hardare, 10 spare tire carrier tube, 4 wiper motor cover. SO far that is about 80 and there are still more bolts plus interior to think about.

On the other hand, buy the kit and tell us how you like it!

PM me your email or post it up...

I might make the excel sheet availible on one condition:
YOU MEASURE A BOLT ON YOUR CRUISER:D

Here is what I need

I am trying to double check some sizes, quantities and washer types. If you have taken off any of the following and could measure, that would be a tremendous help!

- Hardtop
- Doors
- Hood Hinges
- Bezel
- Tranny Hump Bolts
- Seat Bolts
- Windshield Hook Riser
- Bumperettes
- Apron Bolts
- Windshield Hinge
- Fenders

Like coolerman said, it is really easy, just measure!

M,

I thought many many of the same things. I was going to try to call him tomorrow. I've looked up the place on mud here and no one had anything bad to say.

One would think that if it says "Everything" then you mean "Everything". I honestly doubt it. Your mother was probably right when she said if it sounds too good to be true...

Anyway, I'll see what I can do and post up. We'll see.

When we tear things down, I plan to do some measuring for you.

thanks again
Scott

Scott,

Post up whatever you find out.

I wasn't trying to offend 4Wheel auto. I have talked with them before about other parts and they seem helpful.

I didn't take it that way and neither should they. I think it's fair to say that it's a LOT of $$$ to re-outfit a cruiser in stainless and the box looks small. We also want to know what we're paying for so don't feel bad. All were good points.

I spoke to Dan on the phone today and he rattled off the list of contents and it was a long one (longer than what I thought could fit in that scrawny box!). Anyway, he said it was JIS and that if I were missing anything he'd send it to me for free. He did say that this obviously didn't include anything that had to be OEM and was for the body.. not frame etc..(what I figured). Only other separate thing from the kit (don't know why) is the windshield hinge screws.

Good enough, I'll try one out. Ordered today. I'll let you when it comes it. (I'm a little nervous but hell.. expensive way to restock bolts).

I hope it works out but still plan on taking some meas. for you in the breakdown w/ pics.

Thanks
Scott

Thanks Coolerman! Looks like I haven't been reading what you've been posting lately.

As for the 4Wheel Auto nuts and bolts, they may actually be a pretty good deal. Plus I am having a fun time finding JIS!

No problem, there are a LOT of post in this thread!

I got an interesting email back from a vendor. He claims that the reason no can find JIS stainless in certain sizes has to do with their strength compared to zinc bolts. He says an 8mm bolt in stainless REQUIRES a 13mm head otherwise it would shear off when torqued to spec.
Makes a bit of sense actually....

Thanks for posting those coolerman...

I added some more of the stuff on this thread to the excel sheet. From what Coolerman has contributed there are over 800 pieces (nuts/washers/bolts) and counting!

Thanks Coolerman for taking the time to do this for other people!

There is also quite a bit of other sizes contributed by other people, and some that I have measured by haven't entered.

The early 70s soft top FJ40 sizes are now well covered!

I'd love to get a copy of the spread sheet. I'll measure some bolts if you need some done still since my cruiser is tore all the way down :crybaby:

Thanks,
Burl

Did you mean to say, "...a bucket of MONEY"... lol.

Nice !!

..and I've seen the pics of your finished rig!

As I get further along in my revival of !Oy I'll keep posting. Especially when I start putting it back together. Then I'll know for sure what goes where and can get a verification of my previous measurements.

This site has been awfully good to me so I don't mind returning some of my work for others to benifit from.

Thanks Scott, but I'm having trouble opening the files unknown file type keeps coming up  is it something I'm doing wrong

Sorry bud. Should be an excel file?? I tried mine again and it works fine.

Let me know if you need/want me to send it again. I can probably copy it into MS Word.
