Until you clean it up really well you will never be able to tell where that oil is coming from. My guess is the front or rear output seal. Not too bad of a fix.

Do not use oven cleaner on it! Scrapers, flathead screwdrivers and a lot of purple power degreaser. You can get it clean enough to tell where it's coming from.

Spray on brake cleaner does wonders.

Good night in the shop working on the 40. Thx Trey for all the help (again). @NELA Mongoose

Got the radiator changed out, ebrake disassembled, rebuilt and fixed (had a broken spring inside it), and changed out all the gaskets I could on the xfer case without dropping it. Hopefully that will fix the leak there.

3 things off the list. Next round will be rear brakes, then reassembly portion of the knuckle job. Lotsa parts for that.

How hard was it to get to and fix the parking brake? I need to do it but don't want to open Pandora's box. Did you buy a rebuild kit before opening it up?

I was worried but it wasn't hard at all. Dropped the rear driveshaft, pulled the drum, pulled and cleaned all the parts, installed new, and back together. Less than an hour, and we went another level deep and changed out the gasket between the housing and the xfer case.

One banana. If you have an FSM it shows item by item how to remove and replace.

Yes I bought a rebuild kit from Cruiser outfitters.

What's left after driveline refresh?

Brakes on all 4 corners (already have all the parts, painting calipers over the next few days)

Part 2 of knuckle refresh (assembly, already have all the parts).

Fluids...both diffs, xfer, tranny, brakes, coolant, oil

Upholster it.

Paint it.

Pimp it (all little details, badges, etc).

I really think that's it unless something else breaks. She's in surprisingly good shape for having sat since fall of 2014.

that last picture is pure D. sex. @ntsaint

Got all the new calipers painted, rotor hats painted, etc, ready for assembly tomorrow. Everything but the front rotors are new, been waiting on a set for 2 weeks, finally gave up and just cleaned up the old. One good trip around the block should have them in good shape again.

Hope to get her back rolling tomorrow.

Rear calipers and rotors mounted up, tires are on.

Disassembled and repacked the birfs, got all the way out to the axle nuts on reassembly, but had to stop there. Pretty sure my daughter has all 4 held hostage somewhere. Have to order new from dealer tomorrow.

And boom goes the dynamite...the 40 title is now clear and in my name. It has been a long and frustrating road getting this done.

Thanks to @Bomar for all the work on this, couldn't have done it if he wasn't willing to go to the Ark DMV (twice) and meet me in Monroe for signatures (twice). Thanks a ton John, free food and drinks for you the next two dozen time we hang out.

Also JesH helped me a ton on this too, met me twice in J-town in the last year, really came through.
