I paid $4000 for mine, but it was a good deal. I think that one is worth $5000 if mechanically sound, with the bad paint and questionable rust. If he doesn't want to deal, move on. I would hate to drive that far and come back empty handed, or if your are like me, you may buy it no matter what it looks like because you are blinded by the excitement.

Andy, your truck has no rust though! AND you got it local! (of course it did run kina rough at first)

I agree with this completely

Another Option

This truck is in Kentucky, $5500.

Guy bought 2 trucks, combined parts (although not yet done) to make 1 good truck.

Original engine, lockers in front and rear. Obviously needs body work, and he says the ambulance doors have rust issues at the tops. The homemade tailgate looks pretty awful too.

Good news is for the $5500, which I believe is negotiable, you get the rebuilt truck, the parts truck, an extra radiator, and an extra front and rear setup. Also has 2 complete sets of doors that come with it.

Thoughts?

Just noticed...were the wipers mounted in different locations in the 76 and 78 models?

The more i think about it, i might just set aside a little more dough and find less of a project. BUT, I do have the time and the motivaton and a great place to work on a project...

No, wipers at the top are older. Like 72ish or so. Save your $ and look for a better start. Find the best body you can afford- the mechanicals are easier to fix.

That's what I'm gonna do. Up my budget some and look harder.

I really do appreciate all the input from you guys.

Wipers at the top of the W/S were 74 and older. Don't buy the 2 truck basket case

This one looks clean, but also more money. Maybe you can talk him down.

Guy bought that truck in Marion AR about year and a half ago. I don't believe he paid but about 6000 or so IIRC I think it was listed at 6000 then on Craigslist.

that looks like a resonable price to me.

see my sig line too...just sayin:p

Wonder why the turn signals have been moved back? You will have to put fenders in that one for sure.
