Thanks for the offer and the confirmation. I'm probably going to keep the smog pump at this point. Even though i dont have to pass emissions here, I still have all the stock CA truck emissions mess. I wont be spending 700 at $SOR... I may replace with Cardone for now then tuck away the old one for a rebuild at some point. I'll just put it next to my OEM power steering pump that leaked like a sieve.

I have had very good luck with B-Z rebuilders re-doing smog pumps. They claim to have the good stuff and some kind of secret sauce to re-vane a factory Toyota pump.

I always prefer to have the original part rebuilt rather than get a Cardone or other "rebuilt" part from the parts store. Thankfully SoCal has lots of places that do this kind of thing.
