Wouldn’t it be cheaper to fly to a third world country drive one around for a month get your fix come back and say I’m glad I didn’t buy one?
We're selling dreams here, not reality, don't bring too much reality in here and queer the deal.

I’m just gonna leave this here.

Aside from all the other s*** going down in here.

You seriously need to learn your product, I’ve never seen a dual cab 70 with drum brakes, unless the Middle East versions are lower spec than ours.

A quick question? Have you actually laid hands on a 2017 dual cab 70? I suspect not because if you had you would see that it has rear drum brakes. (I can post pictures if you are still not convinced.) I agree that it is a little -- and I say a little -- confusing, but it is what it is. We have spent weeks now going through this vehicle from top to bottom. Still not experts, but certainly more learned.

Also the DPF that Toyota has installed is a fickle animal that likes to s*** itself with disturbing regularity, I have no doubt that a DPF would be required to meet US emissions standards so removing them would be impossible and replacement of destroyed units can run up about $5000.

$80k? You can get a heck of a lot of vehicle for that kind of coin, so I'd be expecting something with the unquestionable quality as well as excellent support of a new LC. I haven't heard anything that makes me expect any factory support or dealer network, so this would be riskier than buying an out of warranty U.S vehicle. These trucks aren't without their quirks, like the DPF mentioned above, so you'll end up wrenching on your new $80k vehicle rather than taking it to the dealer. It will be hard to find buyers in that price range who are willing to wrench on their new prestige toy, or pay a mechanic to research and guess at how to fix things.

I love the vehicle, but the business model isn't looking viable so far. If John Papp came here to get info on his endeavor, he is getting it from all sides, hopefully he takes it as honest advice and feedback even though we tend to be harsh for our own amusement. He is not going to find a more knowledgeable and honest group to bounce this off.

No, I came here looking for information and assistance and received neither. I accept complete responsibility for our business model, so if it fails it is all on me. I just don't understand why the smart folks here aren't willing to share their product knowledge, answer questions and help make this a reality. Instead I get...

BTW. It took two morning of poop to read this train wreck..... The dude must enjoy being told he is full of poo..... Another scammer getting. SHUT DOWN by mud folks who are used to Dumbass douche bags trying to get over....

I'll say it one last time -- at least we jumped out of the dugout and stepped up to the plate to take our swings. The rest of you are still just lookers and armchair skippers. And if anyone tries to tell me that by saying that I am being insulting, please read the vileness I have to put up with from the great folks on IH8MUD on a daily basis.

It is chat...... Get a thick skin.... This is another how to do the impossible and get a new 70 into the USA.... With other want to be vendors on here put up or GTFO..... We have seen the likes of you in the past.... GTFO or GYOF

Comes with a rear locker and enoughgagets to fly to the moon and back and have some change in your pocket....

From what I've gathered, you're going to be bringing in these trucks and "manufacturing" them, whatever the hell that means. and you are going to be selling them as "kit" vehicles. That's how you are getting around having to crash test these trucks.

You are selling yourself as a damn manufacture, when it sounds like you are just putting bolt on parts.

What exactly are will you be Manufacturing because we all know you aren't taking Half cuts and putting them on 80 series bodies. BTW an 80 series is a Land Cruiser manufactured by Toyota during the nineties. There's a sweet section on this site where you can learn about it.

Yeah, you stepped out of the dugout, up to the plate and started taking swings, but you are taking swings with a cork bat.

Mud is THE place to share Land Cruiser information. There is no better place, that is the prime function of this place. However, you have jumped into the deepest part, for-profit commercial production and sales, where scrutiny is at the highest level, and you didn't bring a lot of answers. If you came here asking questions about the brakes on your personal 70-series, we would be fighting over who's answer is more perfect. But you are here pumping for information for personal profit, and you will need to prove you are bringing something of value.

A lot of people have made the same noises you are making, and proven they were purely in it for profit, most of them fraudulent. You have that history to overcome. You also seem to have a documented personal history of fraud and criminal behavior in vehicle sales to overcome. Those are high obstacles, and not much so far in that direction from you. Promises, even well-intentioned promises, aren't going to do it. You have made numerous promises you didn't come through on, that further works against anyone putting faith in your promises. People here have offered to come look at your trucks. Their positive feedback here would have gotten you an army of supporters and flood of information, all for free, but you declined. Suspicious doesn't begin to describe the natural conclusions to your actions (not words) so far.

Well said Scott.

Look John, we aren’t trying to bust nuts here or spread “vileness”. This thread isn’t tech, and the mods moved it to chat for that reason. And since you do not have a vendor star, the bowels of rChat is where these threads go. And as you can tell, we like our sodomy here in chat:grinpimp:

But the wealth of cruiser knowledge here in Mud runs deep and when somebody comes in with a “too good to be true” scenario, we tend to look at it with skepticism as people here have been burned before with other cruiser import scams. You have been vauge on the details on how you are bringing them in and have little technical knowledge of the trucks themselves, which raises red flags.

FYI...I visited the truck and have seen the EPA and NHSTA exemption paperwork for testing purposes. It's here legally and it's a sweet rig. I cannot speak to whether Mr. Papp and LC America will be able to clear the hurdles imposed by the EPA and NHSTA to keep it here permanently and drive it on our roads but look forward to seeing what happens.

Google my location and ask again whether I’ve ever driven or seen a 70 series first hand! I’ve seen and driven more than you ever will.
