I have come to the conclusion most people in city’s won’t be driving much at all in the future. Electric vehicles are just a farce, Working class people won’t be able afford to drive anything. gas, electric, hydrogen, wind power, whatever.

In 2023, approximately 26 million passenger cars were sold in China.
For comparison
U.S. auto industry sold nearly 18 million passenger vehicles in 2023.

Global competition for resources is going to make new cars unaffordable to the working class.

Vehicle ownership in china

EVehicles, Imagine a field of parked Amazon vans charging overnight around their own small nuclear power plant because of the massive amperage services needed to charge, just for Greater Victoria. Now every other service Industry’s vehicles also. Each vehicle would need a charger and parking space. Even if we were capable of generating enough power the logistics of bringing that much available amperage to charge fields of vehicles is unfeasible. Pipe dream.

I’m keeping & continuing to build/drive my 40. If I need something bigger I’ve got our diesel 7 seater “van”.

For the foreseeable future I’ll keep putting most of my miles on our hybrid. Prius have their own stigma,.. it has 210k kms on it and it’ll keep going for many years to come. I bought it planning to have it 25 years… and it has only been 16 so far. I have every reason to believe it’ll go another 16… and it costs next to nothing for maintenance.

Teslas with high output motors and massive batteries are the last thing the world needs. If it were just me I could see using a bike, but my life is far too complicated to manage without a car. Even a reasonable sized car gets cramped really fast with our family in it.

Won’t affect me they say! I’m gonna keep on driving.

Well another reason town people won’t be driving much in the future is they will spend most their time going nowhere, idling. As the population gets denser, vehicles are confined to fewer roads a single road or lane closure to repair any and all of Victoria’s infrastructure that all lies underneath our roads or an accident will congest or even gridlock most of the city.

I’m seeing it almost once a week now.

Yeah but this s*** happens to all "young" cities. They expand and sprawl for decades until one day they realize there's more cars than they ever planned for, and everyone lives too damn far apart.

Strangely it's the ancient European cities that are the better model now. They existed for so long where everyone was on foot that they've come back around to being the right way again.

Now that the Yanks have doubled down on stupid who the hell knows where we'll be in 5 years. They've set the bar. We'll probably trip over it.

I don't much care for all the angular door wedge styled Italian cars but, I kinda like that.

Give them some curves, not all elbows and cheekbones.😜
That's the original Daytona styling form back in the 60's. I don't much care for these driver review stories, but this guy
did bring up a lot of the history of Ferrari, kinda cool. No matter personal opinion, I immediately saw the old Black Ferrari
Sonny drove back in the day. But the sound of that engine, enough to give a guy shivers.

Yep, I instantly heard the Miami Vice theme 🤣

Not only silly assed tires. But this is the epitome of ‘ ‘
I left the hotel at 3:45 am to catch my ride to DFW and this guy leaves the whore lights on all night I guess to protect his cool image?
🤯 😱

Guess I'll be able to give this a proper test run this week. Experiencing a bit of weather.

Kinda funny, buddy of mine got two of these, one in good shape, one beat up. Gave me the beat up one, because bearings were ****ed ( came with new ones) and it had been on it's side, so the crank was full of gas.

Got that all sorted, only remaining detail is that the genius who owned it last, ran it with the blades in backwards, and beat the ever loving piss out of the anvil..so it doesn't cut quite as well as it should. Once I find out what the anvil is supposed to look like, I'll fix it.

Probably why he bought a new one. Apparently he was moderately insane. Got himself banned from Island Saw, which I can't imagine is easy to do...

I'd rather have a tractor mounted one, but until then , the price was right on this.

Bit of weather, yup. Lost power at 7:30. One of my Yamaha generators won’t work when I push
in the choke. Since I rebuilt them both no one else to blame. Will be making a fuel run to
Chemainus on the highway as they apparently have power at Henry Road. Coffee maker works,
and my cool little water pump works so all good. I finally can make a fire, since we got the heat pump
it’s like an old folks home here, same temp all the time.
