If that pond has any drainage away it would be bad to have goldfish that might invade somewhere they aren’t supposed to be.
Mel's in charge of the invasive species department in DFO for the next month so, yeah.

She's well aware of how many we already have on the property:lol:

This setup will either be inside the house or on the deck, a lot of people run these systems off a small fish tank. Keeps the nutrients in the water and helps balance things supposedly.

Haven't decided on that yet, this was kindof a spur of the moment purchase, something to mess around with, so she's still in the reading up stage.

The pond version will be quite different. Floating with a small solar pump probably.

One way another I’ll get off the pavement this summer…

I got tired of dragging over speed bumps. At stock ride height it’ll barely clear a vertical cam on the ground. With a 1.5” lift it’ll have the clearance of a Camry.

It’s hard to see in the pictures, but the front spacers move the top of the strut over about 3/8” to correct the alignment for the lift.

I had one for a while, made a huge mess in the apartment kitchen at some point.

For the pond we are debating doing the same but no pump just a raft with some space between for roots to get air before they're into the water.

I was thinking similar, but getting it up in the air a bit and not having to bend over or hang off the raft to access it might be nice.

So I was thinking a pipe up in the air a bit with a little pump to keep the water moving. I've had a few variations float through the brain at 2am tho.

Step one is build the dock and there's a few things ahead of that on the list so...might just be the little one for a while.

It’s back, lots of fun on Sunday this weekend

Rant: Nick feel free to delete
Well, since Canadians are being bankrupted on purpose by our gov't taxation satantic need to cure the earth in one generation,
I'd like to share a little federal government give away. It's 4000 passes worth $113 each Annual passes to National Parks
Now I know most of us will have to scrape to drive that far in fact can barely afford to drive that far,
but its got to be worth it if we win - right?
Think again - Only open to United States American travellers. Damned near $400K but nothing to us.
Suck it up Canadians

That article is reminiscent of the Random House Sweepstakes (any of you remember that). And yes, what a stoopid give-away.

Apparently next time @stevebradford fires up the still, he needs to get himself some beaver anus if he wants to keep up with trends.
Not sure I'd have gone there in my flavour search to be honest.

Next they're gonna tell me peat is decomposed swamp life and loon s***.

Maybe you can sell that whiskey company your invasive species frogs legs to add to their weirdo flavors...

Now we're getting somewhere. Solar powered camping rig. Of course until it's actually practical in anywhere but sunscorched
parking lots of Walmart in Arizona. But a start. Initial ranges of up to 1000 miles - for a fee, but impressive

Any A/C technicians in our midst?

I bought a never used window air conditioner to upgrade one I’m using. While putting in the second to last screw installing it, the screw slipped off the bracket it was supposed to go into and nicked the evaporator line.

I’m planning to braze a patch over the hole with 15 Sil-Po while flushing the line with inert gas and then pressure test the patch. Afterwards, I’ll need to refill the system with 410a and such.

Does anyone have a reasonable source for 10 oz of 410a refrigerant &/or the equipment to charge it? I believe I’ll also either braze on the fill/flush valves or clamp some on. I want to be sure to use ones that’ll match the equipment I have or the technician has.

I’m hoping to repair this Friedrich unit rather than just recycling it… but unless I can find a connection who’ll repair it affordably I’ll have to scrap it.

Snapped a few pics...

When I was reviewing the photos on the computer I found a hitchhiker.

A mere 125k... probably usd, and a years long wait list.

Still, I don't hate the look of the rivian trucks, and I don't know who owns the company unlike another electric automaker I could mention owned by a complete douchebag

Haha, sweetpotato isn't the worst thing I've been called..

yeah truck is good but the jumping on and off thing and pressing gas pedal to go is just too convenient.

Even the little ride on mower with trailer isn't bad, but if I had any money I'd get something like a JD Gator.

It'll probably never happen, I'm far too cheap to spend thousands on a go kart. More likely to upgrade the tractor. Neighbors have a new Kubota 2301...******* it's smooth compared to my old clunker. 1 finger power steering even with the bucket full.
Mine is supposed to have power steering....but not so much.

Can you tweak the power steering pump? If it's at all like a Saginaw pump you may be able to increase pressure and flow. 🤷‍♂️ Just don't take it too far and end up rolling it because you're used to reifying on the wheel.

This is kinda cool. Supposedly the truck flat packs for shipping.

I'd like to find some sort of little electric UTV for yard s*** one day.

Neighbors have a little gas powered golf cart. Thing is handy as hell, because it's so easy to jump on and off.
Interesting concept, but find it weird in a country with hardly any food there is a charging station every 175 km,
although not unbelievable since it is Africa. Users sign up on an app to rent truck space.

Not really.

Everything runs off the main hydraulic pump. There's a diverter valve that's often a culprit, but to really troubleshoot I need a 3000psi gauge so I can see if it's the gearbox seals leaking by, or if the diverter valve isn't sending fluid to it.

All sounds like a maybe in the winter project when there's less sweating.

This is almost cruiser related because it involves cold beer...

I have this old norcold fridge freezer, works great on 120v, but I don't have a 12v cord for it.

Anyways, supposedly it's the same as an Engels cord, and I've found one that looks right online, but I wanted to do a little temporary wire up first to see if it even works on 12v before paying and ordering.

The puzzler is that there's 3 prongs...so it's not just the usual 50/50 shot...haha

Anyone have a similar old fridge and know which prong is which? I'm just being lazy, I know I could figger it out with some disassembly, but it's hot out.

( and none of the 3 seem to give me continuity to the metal bits of the fridge, I'd hoped that'd at least find me the ground)
