Yeah Mark @65swb45 I’m looking to get my ‘65 back to more original, it’s missing the pieces I’ve requested (and the horn is a button on the dash not the steering wheel). I don’t recall seeing a part #57 in my ‘63 either, though it is more complete. I wonder what it‘s made of?, guessing it’s to help with the turning of the shaft through the rubber of the horn ring (the “see page 190” item in the above figure) or maybe to protect the horn wire. That ring not only functions as part of the horn assembly but also adds stability to the steering so the steering wheel doesn‘t “wobble” like it does on my ‘65 
without the ring. Old info I’m sure.

Not sure where SOR got their parts info from @65swb45, #57 doesn‘t show up in the ‘65 parts book. There is something shown in the first illustration, but no call out in the parts detail.

The lip is in great shape. Except for the hole (which is on the flat portion and easier to repair) the overall condition is great.

Can you pull that out and clean it up a bit?

Unfortunately the piece inside the box is what I’m after, and it looks shot. Thanks anyways. Now, if someone could use the upper shaft of that worm gear for their Saginaw conversion, and save a better one from being cut up, that would be good cruiser karma.
