Hi
Hi all, I'm new here, and just learning my way around. I bought my 78 FJ40 brand new in 1979, and it was a daily driver for several years. I also took it places that I would never go now, getting older sometimes also means getting smarter. Anyway, my Cruiser sat for several years, neglected. Now I am working to get it back in "road worthy" condition.
I'm a long way from getting new tires, but I have a question that I'm confident someone here can answer. What are the tallest tires that I can put on my Cruiser without having any problems with rubbing, or rubbing while turning?
My FJ40 has not been lifted, and right now I don't plan on lifting it.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Wow! a 1 owner FJ40, looking forward to seeing your rig and her condition. No doubt some of the Guru's will chime in. This crowd loves pictures if you get time to post some.

Welcome. Check out the Razorback Land Cruisers forum in the clubhouse section. There are a few of us around and depending on what part of the state you are in, you could bring it to a meeting and get to know some of us.

What part of Arkansas are you in?

I have 33x10.5x15 w/ 1" longer shackles than stock. No rubbing.

@Paul78FJ40 Hey I live about an hour and a half from you! If you're ever out toward mountain view or Marshall give me a shout.

Better yet if you're not busy this Tuesday you could caravan with me to Hot Springs to deliver the 40 series cross country batons.

FJ40 Cross-Country Expedition: Will YOU join us???

I saw a blue 40 in batesville Saturday. It was sitting at a body shop. That wouldn't be you would it?
