Make sure you find one with an upgraded suspension, cuz that thing is gonna get loaded down with college girls, no doubt. Seriously, though, drive one before you set your heart on it. Get the compression checked. Don't be afraid of a little rust or wear. Drive it. Break it. Fix it. Consult the FSM. Consult MUD. Consult the bank account. Sell some plasma. Figure it out.

At this stage in the game (30+ year old vehicles) I'd recommend getting an FJ60 with a manual transmission and carburetor vs the EFI FJ62 with automatic transmission.
