Pretty positive they make them in-house, I'll find out from my inside man ;)
All other ARB shocks (OME) are made by Monroe, and to be honest, if you're not doing lots of constant long distance corrugated roads etc they are a better option.

Why are they a better option? Cheaper and less troublesome?

Yep, the standard OME's are a good shock and would suit most applications

Just got off the phone with ARB, I've got an updated set of fronts to test headed my way all the way from Australia.

By "to test," does that mean they are not declaring it solved, but hoping these solve it pending your test?

You and me both!!!! ARB is trying one set on their truck and I'm trying a second set. We spoke at lenght about all the variables and some concerns I had. Shocks are great, I really want these to work out!!!

Well here's hoping they are good... With my TJM T13 showing up in a couple weeks, I would really like to get hold of replacements to put in with the bumper & winch.

I'm travelling for a week visiting colleges with the kids. Delaware, Maryland, Penn, RI, Mass. Hope to have them on for the trip and give them an honest test.

Where you able to test the shocks ?? I am curious if you see a difference. I would hate to move to something else. They really perform great now, in warm weather. If they can make them perform the same in cold weather,, would be great.

Thank you.

Is ARB actually waiting for your test before sending replacements?

Isn't the test dependent upon cold weather?

There are two sets. They have one and I have one. They called me today and we chatted. I'm to going to pay to have them installed next week so we can get some results.
The cold made it worse but even after leaving my truck in a heated 65 degree garage for 2 days it still clunked.
I'll know immediately if we're in the clear. I hope.

Man, like he said--no apologies! I really do appreciate your willingness to help figure it out.

I'm admittedly a little anxious to get replacements soon, as my TJM T13 bumper FINALLY arrives Saturday(!!). Yippee!

I'll look forward to your findings if you install them... I've got rears from them already. Just waiting for fronts.

Anyone know if this problem is causing the backorder on BP-51 front kits?

I think that is a safe assumption. They don't want to send units they know they are about to replace free of charge.

Sorry to say it but these shock aren’t worth the money. I got them on my Ranger about 6months after they come out to see what the reviews were like. I couldn’t for many bad reports and had the bloke at ARB tell me there that they hadn’t had any faults with them and I would be mad not to buy them when I was just looking at the OME stranded ones. 1st one on the Left front blew a seal out on the test drive before they handed the car back (replaced) 2nd one left rear started leaking down the shaft after 3000km (replaced after telling ARB that they should leak like this) then both fronts and right rear started leaking at about 8000km and not even with any hard 4WD just some easy gravel roas. ARB wanted photos and the serial numbers off them and started brushing me off saying they won’t leaking bad enough even when it had some run marks down the shaft. After a few back and forwards talking with them they decided to replace them, 40,000km on and the dirt on the shaft is starting to look damp again. Wish I had of gone Kings, Fox or icon.

Call ARB Australia. ARB US has been nothing but supportive.
Just refer them to these posts. I don’t know what else to say.......

You just joined mud TODAY...and have a grand total of ONE POST...and that ONE post is to rail on BP-51 shocks.

Red flags.

Your experience with ARB is entirely different from anyone else I know on this forum (including my own) with these shocks in several threads over many months.

Update with mine.........

When taking the BP51's off my 09' Land Cruiser and installing them on my 15' Land Cruiser, I noticed a leak. Replaced free with no issues.

Changed my settings at time of install with a huge improvement in ride quality.

I was set with the front to 3 Compression and 8 Rebound, the rear 3 Compression and 7 Rebound.

Changed to front 1 Compression and 6 Rebound, rear 1 Compression and 5 Rebound.

HUGE DIFFERENCE FOR THE POSITIVE.

I can now haul ass over the most sever of speed bumps and humps at the mall and not spill a single bit of my small batch artisan super moon mexican cake hoppie crunchy celestial festival craft beer. Not that I'd drink and drive.

This was back in September and I've had not leaks or other issues since.

My only complaint is how noisy they are, regardless of the outside temperature. They are really really squeaky. As if I have half a dozen styrofoam coolers in my back seat.
