No "D" Club

I am being kicked outta the club!! I replaced mine with LED's while I was inside

I thought it was a feature... Now I'm afraid that if I hit the dash hard when cut off by a prius with an obama sticker it might turn on again. Then what would I do?

Wear an oven mitts while driving? That way you dont exert too much force on the dash.

Im actually liking the fact that a bright light doesn't shine in my eyes while driving at night (mainly). I think I will not replace that light when I go LED. Assuming I can ever get the rig out of the garage.

No D when my brother bought it 60k ago tapped on the dash when i bought it in may and wala had a D light ever since, and its not bright at all when driving at night.

I never gave it any thought with no D light. 3 80 series and none had working light. Than I run across this thread, unbelievable. Current cruiser at 113000 and no D

The "D" was dead in mine before I bought it, and for some reason rest of them except "R" quit a while ago when I did the NV4500 swapperoo... Well worth it for a 5 speed though.

i had a few of the letters go blank so I took the cluster out and changed all the bulbs and added LED lights to the selector letters. see picture

I have no "D" as well at 160K miles.

Thinking of getting all the bulbs in the cluster switched over to LED.

Acquired my 80 at 127,000 miles with no "D" . Purchased a replacement for it shortly there after and it is still in the glove box at 177,000.

Damnit, I must have hit a bump the right way recently. I'm out of the club now. It's back on and I still have the replacement bulb in the glove box. Yes, i checked to make sure I didn't replace it on a beer influenced mind night. 190,000

94 FZJ 80 with 150,000 and still have my D. I just bought it a couple weeks ago so I don't know if it has ever been replaced or not. I can look through my maintenance records or check with prior owner.

No "D" when I bought it a few months ago. I read this post, went outside to hit the dash and boom, there it is. strange. Not too bright at all though.

No D for me. 194,000. I tried the 'technical tap' but to no avail. I'm with everyone that says it's just one less light to annoy me while driving.

Just like others on here I was in the "no D" club until about a month ago when I banged (pretty hard) right above the speedometer and it came back!
