My "D" just died at 187k. Did the tap and it worked for about 10 sec and went back out.

Did not have a working D bulb when I bought it at about 25,000 miles. Now at 225,000 miles, has not fixed itself yet. The lack of a D bulb is an indicator itself, is it not? ;*)

No D on my 93 with 138k when I bought her.
I thought it was a feature... Now I'm afraid that if I hit the dash hard when cut off by a prius with an obama sticker it might turn on again. Then what would I do?
My D still works, 17 years old, 304000 miles. Had to thump the dash a couple of times though

I take that back.
I completed the "Dash Smash Mod" today. One solid hammerfist pound to the dash above the instrument cluster brought the "D" light back to life.

Just bought mine with 102k and no D light. I'll be hitting the dash tomorrow. 
Update: One smack on the top of dash and the light is now on. (104k miles)
