I did a 3FE in a 40, fantastic and relatively easy swap. Can mate it to an h42 and keep driveline/ebrake in same spot. The 4L has a better power curve but still the F-motor low end grunt. Wiring isn’t bad, I’ve got an old thread with all the details (3FE Adventure) -

Fitment is a challenge.

We spent a LOT of time getting ours to fit properly around the manual steering.

Our header is based on the Downey Offroad header, which Mark A then picked up. So they did some initial fitment work, and then we did more. Ours fits very well.

The whole story is Mark A -> Jim S/Downey -> Mark A -> me.
