2020 Tundra TRD Pro wheels with HE caps.

Ok so this discussion got me thinking about wheels so for the last week I’ve been doing research. I think as much as I want some, bead locks are out as there is only one option for the 200 and overall for me the disadvantages outweigh the advantages.

my question, why would anyone go with this TRD BBS wheel? I can understand if you buy the LC That it comes OEM but for aftermarket Seems like there are way better options for less $$$. Like @Markuson said the 17” RW is better in every possible way.

Ya, seems like the more stylish wheels are just a personal-taste thing. Nothing wrong with that.

For me personally, though, it just makes no sense for me to spend big on super beautiful wheels...because I know I’ll just scrape them up anyway. It’s not like I *try* to bang up my wheels...I don’t. But getting aggressive in loose, weird, large-ish rocks, it just happens as you weave through stuff and avoid real damage to other stuff.

For people who don’t end up in rocks as much, I’m sure it’s a lot easier to keep wheels nice, so that might make sense to me. But the utility of Rw is tough to beat. Plus...I happen to like the look anyway, so it’s a win-win.

I can count on *zero* fingers the number of times someone said, “Would be a nice truck!—if only your wheels weren’t so scuffed!” :hillbilly: :meh:

OTOH, I’ve seen some LC wheels that really do look amazing, so I definitely see the appeal.

IMHO-my '19 wheels look horrendous. I'm not into the bead lock or the bead lock look which is 65% of the aftermarket wheels out there. The BBS forged wheel isn't the best looking but it looks better in my opinion that the factory.

I’m in the same boat. Wheels and truck are scuffed up at all for corners. As mentioned before I really need better sand performance 2-4 weeks a year. I think my best bet when I’m due for tires is a 17” RW or similar with wild peaks.

So we can buy the heritage center caps, just not the wheels right now? Sounds like an easy powder coat job away then if we want that look

Eric, did you really get the HE wheels powdercoated silver from the other thread?😩

Anyways, my HE wheels order got cancelled and this is what I was told: Toyota rejected the order. In order to release these wheels, Toyota requires proof of ownership, as well as proof of damage to the wheel(s) needed. We have canceled/refunded your order in full.

Yes on the Silver BBS wheels. They look very OE, which is what the customer was going for. I am very happy with them. Too bad on the HE wheels. Send me a PM and I can say more if you want them still. I’ve got several sets for Muders successfully.

Okay here are the numbers:
Stock 2019 18" LC wheel: 32.8 lbs (clean but with center cap)
BBS TRD Pro Forged 18" (new out of the box): 27.6 lbs (without center cap)

I kinda wish they’d edit that post as it seems to have been successfully refuted a couple times already.

Yep. Where did you find that pic? I thought that wheel was not released to public yet.

Edit: Forgot to mention that it is 18"

This wheel will be made in Japan and is NOT cheap.
