what's the plan for front valence?

what's the plan for front valence?

No real plan. I have one that is red that just needs to be painted.

BTW, I went to MODERN Paint and Body in Thousand Oaks last week so that I could pick up two cans of factory white in aerosol cans. Each can cost me $22 and the color code for white is 033. I have an extra hood and a valance so I will most likely be painting those two tomorrow then get them installed in a few days when it dries. Thinking about adding in the matte blackout for the hood as well being as I plan on running rack lights eventually.

So I have good news and bad news.

The good news is I just put on 35" Goodyears on the 60 and they look badass with the blacked out 80 wheels. The tires only rub if I go over a large speed bump fast. I can tell that anything off-road is NOT going to happen with the lift I have and these tires. I will need to go larger shackles at least and I have talked to Mark about that.

The bad news is my motor is now seized. Toast. Gone. Gave up the ghost:

Looking for a low mileage 2F for cheap!!!! I don't have the resources to do a diesel conversion yet.

Oh damn. 256k, eh? Mine just rolled over 240 yesterday, maybe I should start looking around.

Are you hellbent on doing a diesel? You can always find older V-8's for cheap.
Just my $0.02

Hellbent on not being without a ride for weeks. So whatever that entails I guess. Diesel was my ultimate goal with this truck and may still be further down the road. For now its used 2F or V8 if its relatively painless.

This is what it looks like today with the Gooyear MTR 315' on it. Still needs slightly larger shackles to keep from rubbing but it rides fine on the street.

Depressing, she LOOKS good but is sick.

a proper V8 swap will cost you just as much as a diesel conversion and then you still have to worry about smogging the rig as well as getting it past the ref. don't get me wrong, i have done both conversions and have gotten them all past the ref or changed to a diesel title by the dmv. they both have their place. but don't install a V8 thinking it's going to be easier or cheaper than a diesel swap. it won't be.

imho, either stuff another boat anchor in there or do the swap you really want.

Yeah I figured, it will have to be the anchor for now. I really don't have a choice right now.

The 60 looks fantastic. White 60's with blacked out trim and wheels are the best.

Find another boat anchor yet?

Oh, man, just put an air-cooled Peugeot motor in it and I'll get you a rainbow-flag sticker and call it good.

:D

That could be really cool ya know? It'd take more than one though. 2CV (Citroen, not Peugeot) engines only made 33HP at peak, so how about 5 of them coupled together? Do it with clutches in between and you'd have a variable displacement engine.

So I guess that would make it a cinq chevaux vapeur-J 60 ? ?

(with a rainbow flag sticker :D )

What primer did you use to paint those aluminum rims?

Yeah all I did was clean them up with mineral spirits and then masked off and painted with two coats of gray Krylon primer. I let it dry over night then shot with three coats of Krylon MATTE black. Each time waiting for a tack to set up before doing the next coat. Still looks great.
