The computer was mounted to the side of the inner wheel well of the avalanche I stole it from so it's more protected now if you think about it. They are quite robust and theres absolutely no reason to waste glove box space.

on. Had to cut off roughly 1" where the cover slides between the block and flex plate due to the flex plate being dished but otherwise she fits good.

Btw. 80 series rear link bolt nuts have the same thread as gm o2 sensors.

For fuel level and "speed" but thats about it. A buddy gave me a 7" samsung tablet and I bought a bluetooth dongle for the obd2 so the plan is to use the tablet with the torque app for gagaues.

Still need to make a quick release mount for the tablet.

That will be sweet. Ive heard u can set those up so they automatically load torque on start up. Fyi, the stock oil pressure sender should thread right on to the gm fitting. So u can get oil pressure pretty easy on the stock gauge.

1am hood rips are the best rips!

Gave up on the unbalanced krawlers/steel beadlocks and bought a set of brand new procomp super extreme redbull tires from a dude I know. As a bonus they were mounted on 6 bolt m/t alloys with a workable backspacing (4.5 vs the 4" beadlocks). No more speed wobbles over 60, tires dont stick out as much, and it looks more civilized without orange skulls.

Got a silicone 45 in the mail to finish off the intake... Built a gague (tablet) mount that bolts under the dash and uses a scoche? magnetic holdermajig and works quite well it seems...

Otherwise been bootin around with a big dumb smile on my face...

Thanks!

Whipped up a quick little tablet mount for my gagues. Used a scosche? magnet mount and bolted it to a few pieces of angle and flat bar. No extra holes in the dash (that you can see) and its damn sturdy yet super simple to remove the pad and stash it.

Been daily driving the 40 for a bit now, even took it on a mini toad trip to Manitoulin island and back (roughly 340km round trip). Also took it wheeling for the first time with the auto and v8, got some body damage (rearended a rock buggy at the rock races i was doing recovery at lol), and figured out a twin stick wouldnt be a bad idea.

Had a 3 week vacation that started with me making a new skid in preperation for some wheeling (old one wouldnt fit anymore since everything is about 3" further back now with the v8/th350). Used some half inch hardened i had handy for the skid itself, mounted the front to some tabs on the trans cross member (thought ahead for once when i made the xmember), and ran 2 dom legs and some angle up to the frame out back. Should do the trick.

Hit the TMR rock races my buddy puts on in Capreol every year and got suckered into recovery duty. While performing said duty i figured out i couldn't shift the t case into 4x4 which lead to the recovery guy needing to be recovered with a tree saver (yeah yeah, too short) and then said recovery guy tapping a rock bouncer buggies butt. Hit him hard enough to dislodge my fuel pump relay... Bumper took the hit nicely but some pointy s*** on the back of the buggy (black one in the last pic) managed to sneak past and dent my bezel and apron. Missed both the headlight and marker by inches which was awesome.

After the races we went for a good trail ride and i managed to get it into 4x4 after some gratuitous zip tie use (the shift linkage wasnt sitting in the 4x4 selector shaft notch for some reason). This prompted me to order an aa twin stick kit which should be making its way up here now. Run went great after that and i might just get to like like wheeling with 2 pedals. Tons of power from the 5.3 man, jesus i wish i had done the swap sooner.

Anyways, after that it was tighten and double check everything time again in preperation for the little road trip. A couple friends have camps on Manitoulin and I've always wanted to take the 40 out there so i figured why the hell not. Loader er up and away i went. Spent a nice week there swimmimg and ripping around doorless. It even got me home!

Thats the story so far.... heres a few pics.

Pulled out the apron with the 60s help and threw on the spare ratty apron that had been hanging on the garage after giving it a few coats of clear. Denty one is now the wall hanger.
