Been super busy lately. Week before last we got my buddies sassed mazda ready for campin, we built sliders, chopped the wheel wells (tastefully I like to think) and massaged a couple other things on top of turning the sixty into a camper special. After a wicked camping trip I had to work 4 12's but hit the ground running last friday.

We have the metal tech cage 80% assembled and welded, they forgot to send a couple tubes so we just made em up here (maybe theyll be cool and send some stickers or a t shirt to make up for it lol). Took a break from the cage yesterday and fabbed up a wicked looking winch plate/tube bumper for Randys mazda. Turned out unique. Finish that today then back to the cage.

Pics later.

Metal tech cage.

Still have to cope and glue in the hip guards but looks all right.

Still no hip guards, waiting to get the ps seat, gas tank and doors on before they go in. I did throw on the quick hinges today and was about to put the doors on when I got side tracked...

Made a lower dash pad replacement out of cedar, and used brass furniture bolts to bolt it to the oe dash pad clip holes. Turned out decent enough. Also threw a couple decorative gussets at the a pillar/dash tube intersection, made em out of an "antique" skill saw blade. Finished the most complicated battery tray in the history of battery trays lol. Its quick release and slides off/on to two posts that are welded to the frame. Its held in place with pinch bolts and Im able to take the whole tray out by loosening them.

Yeah, I plan to paint them when the rest of it gets sprayed. Just getting everything bolted together to make sure it fits like its supposed to.

Threw on a couple more gussets, a rear view mirror mount, and a towel rack for the passenger after getting the gas tank and ps seat back in. Seat belt tabs today hopefully..

Thanks! Hinges worked out mint btw.

Took a break from the inside door panels, which Id like to sink a couple stoosh pockets in, and redid one of the seat belt brackets I put in the wrong spot. Drilled a couple holes In the roll cage plates I for got to do... Then I started on a skid plate, got the mounts done out of 1/4" channel and tacked in place and the rearmost cross bar is tacked in. Gonna be cool lookin all conformed to the transfer case kinda... hopefully.

Tucked skid plate, 1/4" hardened steel and four bolts..

And "new" tires. Kinda scared of em, I keep thinking theyre gonna kick the crap out of me any second when im standing close...

Thanks guys.

Yeah, they supposedly measure 36.2" according to the buddy I got them from. Theyre Q78 buckshot mudders lol. Couple cracks in the sidewalls but theyre bias ply so Im thinking theyll be good for wheelin. Believe it or not they still have 21/32 tread left..... My three year old km2's on the sixty have 19 32 lol, not bad for old assed rubber. Bought them for the rims mostly, 3 1/4" bs 15x8 wagon wheels.

But... I might try and sell them because I have a line on two brand new 36" super swampers for all of 500$.

Messed around with the interior a bit. New rear seat mounts and door jamb supports/gussets. Ps seat moved back to "match" the ds seat. Airstream lookin center console w clam shell doors and cup holders. Cargo area angle dealies... Third brake light thing. Repositioned brake pedal so it sits a little closer to the firewall.

I think thats about it.
