Good looking rig! Looks modern, maybe it's the paint color and that it's not 2tone? The tinting helps too.

yes sir. My girlfriend is 5'4". They'll stay on until I can get something proper installed so that I can avoid the nagging about how hard it is to get in the thing.
Just goose her on the ass, she'll jump right in!
On a more serious note, does that spare tire carrier push on the tailgate? Be careful of that if it does...
what power steering setup does it have?
Did you put those wheels and tires on?
Looks very solid. Take care of it, they rust VERY quickly, quicker than 40s and 60s. Even washing it will cause water to get into places you never dreamed it could.
It does. funny you bring that up. Not sure what cautionary advice you have (interested to know), but i did see that the stress at the mounting point on the door has caused the paint to crack around it. Sucks! I've taken the tire off in the meantime. One of several areas I'll have addressed over the coming year. That probably sounds odd to say, given how good the truck looks and how new the paint is, but there are already a couple of similar spots where the paint has cracked a bit or was thin to begin with that will be troublesome if not dealt with in a timely manner. I know this all to well having restored a 70's, pre zinc, bimmer over the last 8 years.
It actually mounts on the tailgate? I would not use that. I did see you had taken the tire off. I would either put the spare in the cargo area, or use the spare tire carrier underneath. If you really want the tire mounted on the rear bumper, you will need a bumper capable of carrying that load on a spindle mount. I had a nice rear bumper built for my Pig. Let me know if you want details...
