I just purchased a 1996 locker equipped lx450 with 121K on the clock. Only a couple quirks so far. First, Is there an adjustment on the fuel door release lever. It won't pop open, it will only open if someone pulls on it while the lever is being extended. Second, does anybody know how to program the keyless remotes. I changed the battery but it no longer works. IS this a dealer only thing? Thanks

There is a way to program the remote, it is detailed in the owner manual. If you don't have a manual, you can go to the Lexus website and join the owners section using your VIN, then there is a way to order a owners manual for free. It takes 1-2 weeks to recieve the manual. Also all the owners manual info is on the website.

within the FAQ link at the top you will find this link to Slees site that has the manuals.

Essentially, turn key to on, Press button on box under drivers seat, light turns on, press remote button. Look it up in the owners manual.

I'm sure there is an adjustment for the dorr. Hard to tell from here if it is an adjustment or something is broken. Maybe ithers who have done this will chime in.

Oh, and welcome

Welcome:flipoff2:

I'd look behind the lever itself, and then inside the left rear panel where the filler door is (behind the hopefully non-rusty jack!). I'm pretty sure there is a bicycle brake cable type of adjustment at one end. I'll check in mine later tonight.

thanks so far everyone for the input. Unfortunately, this will be my wife's dd until she gets bored with it So no major upgrades for awhile. I figure I will eventually get it with 200K on the odo and just broken in. My major project right now is going to be getting my fj60 completely Forduized(I was going for a Fockerized Pun there don't know if it worked or not) with a modular 9" upfront and 9" rear, I am still debating on keeping the 2f and going with a newventure trans, or pulling the engine and going ford 4.9 inline 6 with a np435 and 205 combo. Input would be great on your thoughts on this project as well. Thanks

Welcome.

Depending on the truck's maintenance history, I suggest that you go ahead and order a set of starter contacts, and pick up some silicone hose and clamps to fix the Pesky Heater Hose.

If these two issues have been addressed, you are good to go. If not, have the parts on the shelf and save yourself some grief!
