Wasn't planning on starting a build thread but after putting my front axle together and finally having front tires on the cruiser again ive changed my mind. In the middle of an SOA right now all because the rear axle seals puked all over the drum brakes and i decided if i have to do all that work might as well do an soa right?

Yukon grizzly and 4.88's for the front diff

spent most of yesterday afternoon and evening putting the front axle in and bolting it all together... lost my snapring pliers and dear lord putting the snaprings on the axles using 4 flatheads was not very fun

loving the new front ride height, makes the 32's look small

Build threads? Are they still allowed?

I thought this section of mud was all about selfies?

Looking good. One of these days, I'm gonna build something cool again. ..

Dont worry ill be sure to add a couple selfies to this thread :D

A 350 swapped bj42 would be cool, should build something like? kidding of course:lol:

Did you cut and turn the knuckles? Did you get the pinion angle before you swapped perches? Too bad, I just sold my 38" SX's. They'd have filled out the wheel wells!

yes cut and turned the knuckles and got the pinion angle before welding the perches. 38 sx's were what i was actually looking for before too damn

Hey where'd you get a pic of mine... I've got a pair... 90% sure I know where to find them... unless Stephen took them... ;)

Threw some 37's on the front, still lots of clearance maybe it'll get 40's one day. Going to start tearing into the back this week, want to have it at least drive able while its still summer and can take the top off.

I think it is the stinger that makes the 32's look small . What is that thing for ? You don't have any support tubes toward the rear of the truck . If you ever get into a position where your truck is standing on it's nose that thing will bend back into your grill and hood anyway . What are the silver things on top of your leaf springs under the ubolt plates ? I think those are typically supposed to go in between the spring and perch ? Sorry I can't say anything positive about your stinger . I have been wheeling for 20 years and have never seen a stinger of any sort do any good for any situation around our type of wheeling . If your rear tires are starting to lift off the ground you should be off the brakes and on the gas . If the terrain is that steep you probably would be too scared to go down it anyhow .

The stinger isn't finished it's been on for years but basically just as a bush bar, never got around to adding more bracing, now that it's actually off the road the stingers getting finished. Those are the OEM caster shims and u bolt plates, basically just there to make the stock u bolt plates work for mock up while I fab different u bolt plates, needed the front together to move it around the driveway

Pulled the rear diff out this afternoon, tomorrow going to start rebuilding it and putting 4.88's in. Going to leave the rear open for now until i have a power steering setup, and beefier axle shafts...

Yeah spent a full day cleaning and painting two of them, they came out pretty nice! No Im springing over the rear as well

Been a while since a last update, been too busy with school and everything else to get much done. However I did re assemble the rear axle (without brakes) so i can measure for shocks, driveshafts and brake lines. Need to paint my other 2 wheels as well but thats on the bottom of the list lol. Quick pic, notice the custom plastic bag diff cover. Weight reduction, should be able to do 0-60 in roughly 3 seconds now. Not sure why no one else has done this??

That's cause it hurts to throw a perfectly good truck off a cliff! Looking really good. So how much extra driveline do you think you have
over stock now? You going to throw some flares on it? My experience is the rear view mirror gets covered in mud from the rear tires flinging mud forward.
