You started the thread today, but when did you start the swap? Seems like you are banging it out quick! Nice job

I pulled the donor engine and did the prep work on it three weeks ago and then left town for two weeks. I pulled the broken engine Saturday night. Got the replacement installed Sunday. Going to try to pick up a battery tomorrow and fire it off.

Any one else confused on how he towed this Fulltime 4WD 100 with a dolly?
I guess with the transfer case in N it is ok?

I know I will get bashed for this, but if you have not scrapped the brush guard I could take it off your hands. My front bumper is a wobbling loose mess due to the mudhole in my profile pic and something sturdy up there would be nice @roma042987

Well she’s a runner. I fired it up yesterday evening and noticed the throttle had no response and the mil was on. It had a hard set code p1633 which is for the etcs (electronic throttle control system). I double checked all my connections and didn’t find anything disconnected on the throttle body (tps, magnetic clutch etc). Clearing the code didn’t help as it would return as soon as the ignition was turned back on. It had me stumped since I drove the truck the engine came out of a few weeks ago and the throttle body couldn’t have went bad during the swap. I had my parts guy at Toyota print off the troubleshooting from the TIS for that code and after reviewing that I decided to swap the ecu in from my white truck. Last night I drove down and snatched the ecu along with a few other bits from my donor. I got home pretty late but anxious to try it out I swapped the ecu’s and tried to fire it off. It cranked over but no start....then it dawned on me the immobilized wouldn’t let it start. I swapped the key fobs from my white one and it fired right off. Throttle problem fixed and no mil.

After work today I drove it with some spares on the front (since the toe was out) to get the alignment set after the rack replacement. I also replaced the broken antenna mast this evening. I had to disassemble the reel to remove the remainder of the old mast so took a bit longer than I’d expected.

I did notice the master cylinder is leaking brake fluid, I guess it’s fortunate I have the other truck so I’m going to swap that over as well. Getting closer.

Got the leaky master swapped out this morning and picked up a case and a half of automatic trans fluid to do a good flush on the trans. I typically like to do multiple consecutive drain and refills instead of using a machine to flush it all at once. I was happy to see the fluid was actually already really clean with the first drain so I only did three drain and fills. While I was down there I also changed the transfer gear oil. I was planning on finishing out all the fluids by doing the rear diff but ran out of gear oil so will need to do that.

s***ty picture but you get the idea.

Old master, just needs a seal kit for cylinder. This will go in the classifieds.

Put some new hood struts and wiper blades on yesterday. Nice to not have to use my pry bar as a hood prop finally.

Oh and almost forgot, I was excited to find a matching BFG all terrain ko for a spare. I really prefer the look of the ko over the ko2 anyway but really didn’t want to have an odd ball tire for it.

Going to do the rear diff fluid tomorrow and fix the passenger front window regulator. Just wish I could do something about that damn gold badging.

Use fishing line to floss the emblems off. Sand down some and rattle can em. A gray metallic looks pretty decent and will last several years.

Got the window regulator replaced today and have put right at 500 miles on it this week, all is well. No leaks, no drips. Air conditioner is cold. I’ve decided to put it up for sale and put the money toward my mortgage. I have three other diesel cruisers and a commuter car. I realized I didn’t post a pic of the inside. Leather is in really good shape and I put some weather tech front and rear mats in. Asking price is 9k and I’ll throw in the trans/tcase from the other one just to have as a spare in case the mileage scares anyone. For an additional grand I’ll include the lift kit from the other truck. Torsion bars, springs, shocks diff drop, and adjustable upper control arms.
