Im a rookie but was wondering if anyone has seen how the tan leather looks with the dk brown vinyl and carpet in the 91 FJ80? Any pics? I would love to get the full set with heater inserts from Shane but not sure how it would match. Any feedback would be great. Thx.

Just finished mine last weekend and the color combo looks great, plus the seat heaters were a nice addition

Ben: Glad to see I am not the only LC addict awake still. My interior exactly like "bigblacktoy's" interior:
So you are saying that the optional leather from the factory in 1991 was tan and it looked okay with all of the dark brown accents?

Actually, I believe the 91-92 LCs did not come from the factory with leather, it was port installed once they made it to the US, so they would have had the same brown interior parts. Dark brown/tan and gray were the only interior colors for the 80 series as far as I know. I believe that in all years, the interior trim colors/carpet were the same color, whether they has leather or cloth.

That looks great! Is that the OEM color? where are you located? Do mine! That is my next project. Including the heated seats which I just purchased from Shane.

That looks great! My 91 has dark brown vinyl on the dash and console yours looks lighter. But I get a good enough idea. I think I will proceed. Would you suggest self or pro install?

What are Alcantara inserts?

Shane,
Can you please elaborate on what the Alcantara inserts you now sell are all about. I followed the link you have in post #1, but other than info about the brand name couldn't figure out what these are. I must be missing something obvious.

Thanks, The brown is factory and I agree with Firetruck41 regarding the color being the same across all 80 years. As far as the leather is concerned, the color is as close as you could get and the quality is on par with or better than high-end OEMs. Even the small amount of vinyl (seat backs/small bits here and there) are very high quality and match perfectly. I'm in Michigan and as far as doing yours... It's an experience you should enjoy yourself, just take you time and block out an entire weekend to do it right. by the way you should have two unused electrical connections under the center console that have good key-on power for the heaters.

If you have the patience, time and some mechanical ability do it yourself. A couple thing of note.. The one quote I got for doing it was about half the actual man hours it took and I had some extra experienced hands to help. Get more hog rings than you think you need, plan on almost 50 per seat and try not to dig up the attachment wire in the foam too much.

Hi, I have a right hand drive LC 80 1994 VX Model, do you have leather kit for it? Grey?

I believe so, Does the seats look like the ones above? just RH drive?

Then I make a run to Starbucks and grab a beverage and her a water. Then down to the river to see whats going on as we have record fisherman on the water this year. I am idling down the heavy river rock finger that runs about 100 yards out in the river shielding the boat ramp. At the end of the turn I am running the waters edge and watching the ducks was to much for Hurley as she did the Peter Pan out the window and hit the water and would not heal. She was out there swimming after these ducks for 5, then 10 and now we are at 20 minutes and she is getting farther and father out. I am stripping down and just about to go in and a guy rolls up that I did not see as I have tunnel vision on my dog and say get it so we can go get your friend. I jump at the chance as I am really worried as she has had 3 knee surgeries and I stressing she is going to cramp....... Crazy bitch wanted no part of being picked up, she just put it into over drive and was on auto pilot after this mallard. Good lord, it took three passes to grab her. Once I tossed her in the boat all she wanted to do was find out where the drake went.

First pic is her between me and my cruiser with drake to the left. Second is her watching the duck and really wanting to get back in....

My truck was a MESS as the rear will full of SOR big boxes....

Has anyone tried Zaino products for leather yet?
I have used Lexol for leather a long time ago. Also used Leatherque, but I have found a cap full of Woolite in a quart of water works great. Just don't like the smell of the leather after cleaning it. I understand Zaino 9 or 10 will get the new leather smell back.
