I am trying to develop a new drawer system for rigs that have fridges. I know what I want to do, I just need to figure out how to do it. This system will be based on the same design as my DIY system that is already available.
I want your feedback and input as I build this system.

Here is a picture of the subframe

Looks like you are moving to a one piece base. Rather than two halves. That should be more space efficient.

Ideally I'd like your system to fit with these Cargo Carriers (at least on one side, better if both sides will fit):

With drawers and the Cargo Carriers, would use up some of the normally unused space near the side windows.

Ok here is my progress. I have mounted the subframe and started constructing the sides.

Here is the hardwere I chose to use. It is a sex bolt with different size poly bushing depending on the application. this allows me to use only two type of hardware the bolts I will use to attach the tops is different.

I am not sure I understand, But if you are saying what I think your saying then in the fridge is boxed in how do you get to the fridge without opening the rear hatch?

Sorry...The purpose of the slide is so you can pull it out to make it easier to get to things. The end of the box is open for the frig to slide out. One of the key point of keeping the frig running efficiently is ventilation and by boxing it you keep the space/clearance needed no matter how you are loaded.

Subscribed. I'm more and more interested by these metal subframe drawers.

I am intersted in the 5" tool drawer option...is there a way you could put the same coating on it so it would match my already installed one?? and what would it cost please?? Thanks

This shows the fridge pull out with a removable tool drawer that will also work as a table when finished.

The Idea is to be able to remove the tool drawer and bring it to the front of the truck when working under the hood. Or just in case you have to jack up the back of your rig you can get the tools out first. This is a small drawer but it should be big enough to hold all your renches sockets Ect.

Charles,

Looks cool....so the fridge side is a two piece slide out?? one for the drawer and then a seperate slide out for the fridge??

can you make the fridge one for the drivers side??? will it have a top and go all the way to the panel like mine does now?? guessing it won't cause the wheel well gets in teh way...just got home from work...been there since 6am..little sleepy...

I like it! Just wonder about the "wasted" space above and below the drawer? The drawer could be alittle bigger or the cabinet a bit smaller. Not that big a deal though.
