New Dome Lights based on George’s LEDs (Gauging Interest)

I've got two of the first gen but have added another dome light so I'm in for one.

My previous ones, while the light was great, died rather quickly. Well most of it, still about 1/3 works.

Same here. I'd probably be in for a pair. Ay chances of getting doors as well?

I'll take at least two :)

Any chance of a qty discount for 3+?

[QUOT3? I only have two dome lights :-) I think... E][/QUOTE]

You are right, I was lumping the "map light" into that. I'm in for the two dome lights and the map light up front.

I'm interested. Waiting on some LEDs I ordered last week, will see how they work when they get here. I'd be interested in 4 dome lights, map light and 4 door lights.

Definitely interested. I was thinking about trying some of the cheaper stuff that has been used on 80's lately, but I'd much rather spend a bit more for a quality product.

Subscribed.

I've got one of George's, but need another one for my second dome light. I'm not worried about the light matching exactly. The LED wins hands down, regardless of what color it looks like.

I'm curious to see the light and its output, and see why I should spend $180 to replace the LED panels that cost me less than $10 and have been working great for almost a year :meh:

Is a slightly yellow color to the light worth the $170 difference? Even if these are electronically regulated I fail to see the reason for the massive markup. Maybe I'm missing something important about Georges product...

My cheap ones are running fine for the last couple of years, so I'm curious what's the difference.

You can actually find the warm white LED panels on eBay for the same price :)

I'm in for 2 domes and a map light

In, in, in.

Domes, maps and doors. In.

I'm a little hesitant about showing pictures of the prototype because the final product will be slightly different. Here's a picture of the current driver board. The new one will be basically the same with a couple small modifications. The positive and negative leads will be moved to the ends so the contacts can be soldered directly to them and the leads for the led will be moved to the center on the back side so the led can be attached directly to the board.

Here's a shot of the difference in colors between the generation one Luxeon and the Cree XP-G:

White balance was set to sunlight (5000k).
