I've used mean green starters and alternators on my Scouts for years, and I'd recommend them. They're a little spendy, but I've never had a problem with any of their stuff. You shouldn't have any worries.

LX- yeah, you should know better than to ask about it after you've purchased it! ;)

Junk, among others, have tried these alternators and found they are no higher in output than a stock 80A, 80-series alternator. It would be interesting if you could verify this for the latest batch.

Did your old alternator fail or is this just a bling replacement? You selling your old one?

The pulley appears to be larger than a stocker. That would slow the alternator down. I wonder how that works?

I've heard on this board and others that mean green alternators do not put out more than stock.

BTW- your giving Cdan a bad name by putting that POS on a box with an American Toyota shipping label :D

Ditto, I have heard from people here, on other boards and friends, that they put out nothing more then stock ........ so that kinda takes the "bling" out of the bling in my opinion.

That being said, maybe the new ones are indeed a better output, please let us know.

I wonder how that works as well. Would the stock pulley bolt on and would it even have an effect?

LX could test it.
