OK guys it looks like most all of the above speculation is true. I was looking at the Toyota website just now and saw this press release. This thing is incredible: http://www.toyota.com/about/news/lx500h.htm
The bummer is they didn't give a suggested retail price or date it was going to be available. I wonder if this is going to be a Lexus only model or if it will be part of the Land Cruiser lineup.

April fools ... right?

That's sweet, I wonder when that's coming. Isn't the Lexus RX330 hybrid sposeto come out this year? A friend of mine who works in new car development at Ford (suspension and sound engineering) said they have the Honda hybrid there and the Toyota one, and go over them alot trying to learn things. He said as best they can tell Toyota loses money on those vehicles. He said they probably hide the loss in the marketing budget or something but he said from what they know those parts cost and the engineering involved, there is no way Toyota or Honda is making money selling those hybrids. But they are the first to do it, so there is a awe factor at work, he said from going over those vehicles Toyota and Honda have really done their homework on design, they're fairly impressed.

The Hybrid RS330 looked damn nice too, I remember reading about it, basically a normal RX330 (3.3 V6) but then the electric stuff too, which actually made it faster than a normal RX330, similar to this Lexus LX500h.

Interestion though, I didn't my LX450 was innovative.. :) "Lexus created the luxury SUV segment with the launch of the innovative LX 450 more than nine years ago. "

mabrodis, it's no secret that hybrids are currently a "loss leader" for Toyota and Honda, hopefully newer technology, and more sales volume will eventually change this. The Toyota Highlander hybrid is the same platform as the Lexus RX330 hybrid.
