Will there be a right and left side for the one with the cell phone pocket? Keep up the good work.

That isn't really possible. The cell phone slot runs right along that "pwr" and "2nd" button on the center console. If I reversed it the cup holder part would then be covering those buttons. There isn't any room on the driver side. That configuration is the only possible configuration for a phone holder/cup holder combo.

I would suggest, for the cell phone cubby, adding a slot wide enough for a charging cable and a notch on bottom to allow the plug to be in with the phone not upside down. You only need to make for iPhone. Samsung is ghey :flipoff2:

I will look into it. I don't have an iphone so I don't know how big the male charging end is. If you could take some basic measurements and PM me those, I would greatly appreciate it. I would need the depth and width of the male plug and it's length.

#3 is nice, I was thinking of suggesting a little side pocket for an ipod, but this is even better.
The double is a really good idea too, different than the usual two separate holders.

Yes to the slot...very much yes.

Very small. Like 1/4" wide and a touch over an 1/8" thick. Length at comfortable bend would be at about 1.25"

This is of course for the 5 and 5S and 5C.

Why do you want a slot on the bottom? It will rip the cord out when you pick up the phone. Also it would be frustrating to alway thread the cord through the hole. Maybe that's just me. I would just go "over the fence" for simplicity.

How about this. You can go over or under "the fence". The user can decide if they want to use the hole or not. I realized I needed a hole no matter what. If you have kids that think it's fun to dump there sippy cup out into any orifice of your car (as I do) then you will want a drain hole. Since this thing will be rather permanently attached I realized we should have a spot to drain the unwanted liquid. So it's a drain/cell charge routing hole. You figure it out. I made the hole 1" x .2". That should be big enough to allow for any type of male charging head to get through. I probably need to go back and look at a drain in all the other designs as well.

First, I like the hole in the rendering as I've never considered having a drain in my Rover cup holder but have dumped several spills, and I may be mistaken, but at least I had envisioned a vertical cut from the top to bottom of the wall on the cell pocket. I think that is also what Joey had in mind, more like a kerf cut all the way down...not sure how much these plastics would be weakened by not having a continuous wall.

Really like option number 3 with the cable slot. I run a dual USB plug in the ole 12 volt cig lighter and just have one of my spare cables in there all of the time any ways. I have an HTC and the charging port is more on the top side so I don't have to worry about cables getting pulled out when removing my phone. The easy solution for people who have the handicap of the charge/data port on the bottom of their devices can just buy a 5 inch longer cable so they can pull out their simple old folks device and disconnect it :flipoff2:

I really like these designs and am in for one or two depending on which version I decide on. I like the idea of being able to fit a Nalgene bottle. My only other suggestion would be for the double cup holder's inner sleeve to be 2 pieces instead of one. Excited about this project!

I'm in for version 3 for the front, and the doublewide on the side of the console.

Actually, could the double be version end to fit the side of the center console in the place of the square one.

I'm not sure what your asking. Could you elaborate that question?

If you don't hurry up I may just print one myself ;)

Is this the type of cut your talking about? You may notice that I also changed the shape of the lower hole. I had to add that lower notch underneath to clear the plastic bezel that goes around the "pwr" and "2nd" buttons. I made sure the multiple types of popular chargers can be fed through the bottom hole. At this point I am rather confident this design will fit perfect and I have done my best to listen to everyone's ideas. I think I am going to run a test print of this one tonight. I actually made a prototype of the single cup holder last night, which fits perfect. I will get pics of both on here installed this weekend. The double cup holder design will have to wait until next week to get printed. I still have a few changes I want to make to it.
