I would suggest, for the cell phone cubby, adding a slot wide enough for a charging cable and a notch on bottom to allow the plug to be in with the phone not upside down. You only need to make for iPhone. Samsung is ghey :flipoff2:

Having a LX was excusable. But Lexus AND an iPhone??? I think you need to be at www.iwearpinkpanties.com/forum :flipoff2:

I might be jumping the gun here and/or maybe I missed this in the thread but have you given thought to creating a single and/or double holder that will attach to the back of the center cubby/arm rest i.e. avail to the middle row of passengers ?

Thanks !!!

I have not mentioned that, BUT I am working on a rear double cup holder design that will mount to the center console. I am trying to figure out a way to incorporate some storage either above or below. As a father of toddlers; I would like to have a place where the kids can store there little toys. It bugs me to no end when I'm driving and I here a bad rattle to only find out it's just a spider man doll banging on the seat frame. I want a designated place for the kids little things and their cups. I need this rear cupholder to fit standard cups but also the sippy cups (funky sizes) that my boys use. That is requiring quite a bit of R&D and is a ways out from being shown to anyone.

I don't know how much room is available, but would it be possible to add a cubby to the inboard side of the double holder above? Something to lay a smart phone down on it's side? Doesn't have to be big or thick walled, just a convenience add-on. The pen/pencil holders are nice touch!

Here's some last touches to the double cup holder. I have been using a digital jig/template to work off of. It's an exact (dimensional) copy of the passenger side of the center console. It allows me to visually look at fitment before I actually do a print. I installed the double cup holder onto it and quicly realized some clearance issues. I had to modify a section to clear enough space for the "pwr" and "2nd" button. I did my best not to mess up the aesthetics too much but still make it all work and function as needed. Hope the changes don't bug you too much.

That's cool! If I didn't have an aluminum dashboard on my console I'd want that setup to get 6 cup holders!

Here's the other design pictured on the console.

Oooh, I like that even better, great ideas here. I had meant about a 1/8 to 1/4 inch wide slot, but I really like the nearly all open side....I need that thing.

Well it's time to make some new prototypes. I have the cupholder/cell holder combo on the printer right now. Print time is 21.5 hrs. Yikes!!. The double cup holder is 27 hours and the single is 17 hours. I plan to get all 3 printed by Sunday night and then make my final design changes at that point. I will post pics as soon as I have the updated prints in my hands. My hope is that I can fine tune these prints a little better and get better quality with quicker prints. My machine is going to HATE me after these stupid long prints.

Let me know when you're ready for the 1993/1994 version

I was unaware that there was a difference in the center console for the different years. The only difference I knew of was the added subwoofer in the LX in place of the square pit of death. Could you snap of pic of the area I plan to mount these cupholders so I can get an idea of what changes I would need to make?

Ill take one no matter what

That single cupholder/cell holder combo looks very nice! Maybe add a usb outlet housing?

Well I was able to get a couple rough prototypes printed out. What a PITA!!. As I had thought; my machine did not like 17-27 hour prints. I had issues with warping, cracking, and delmanation from the platform. The prints in the pics do have some issues and have zero sanding done. Fitment was close to perfect on both, but needs a couple minor tweaks. I will spend this week working on quicker and better looking prints. Prints this complex take time to perfect. The double cup holder literally killed my machine. My platform heater just wasn't up to the job. I now need to upgrade the heater, insulation in the acrylic box, and some wiring so my machine can handle these super long and complicated prints. I will get there, but I'm going to need a few weeks to get all the upgrades done and dialed in. Here's some pics of the protoypes I have. Please remember that these have zero sanding done and are rather rough. I should be able to get them a LOT cleaner looking as I get my printer up to the task.
