Oh wow...glad you did not get hurt!! Unfortunately, not the first time I've read a windshield blowing in like that...

She's a pretty good looking rig, and I like your plans so far :)

Just checked the tag on mine, 33529. Pretty close to the same date. Good luck on the build. I'm trying my best to do a resto on mine but things have slowed down lately. I have a rebuild thread in the 25 section, Rods 65 or something like that.

Yeah man, nice 40. Do whatever you want with it mate. Love the earlies!

When I was installing the pertronix, I didn't get the dizzy exactly lined up and didn't know it. I cranked and cranked that started until the battery was dead and the starter didn't sound so hot. Einstein supposedly said the definition of insanity is repeating the same behavior but expecting a different result...or something like that. After I figured out the problem, my starter has continued to sound funky until it officially packed up a few days ago.

$170 including core got me a reconditioned starter from the local toyota stealership and now my rig sounds all fancy with the new starter that will hopefully last another 45+ years.

It's interesting that the solenoid seems to have doubled in size while the motor shrunk by half from 65 to 85.
