When i finally finished my homework i could not get the 55 off my mind. so i went outside and started cleaning the pig... here are some before and after pictures to show the work was worth it..Cant believe it came out looking like new.

Holy smokes, you guys HAVE been busy! Couldn't really make sense of Rob's message before, but I get the jist of it now.
Chris, you are hopelessly addicted now! It's a good thing you've got a good support group.
That's gotta be the cleanest barn-find 55 I've seen in a while. Then again, SB is a good place to find clean sheetmetal [that's where my swb was from]
I hope the 40s don't get jealous; that one's gonna stay an attention getter for a while.

Nice nice find. Sure seems clean. Make sure you check the inside of the upper roofline where the insulation holds water behind the headliner. I thought the rust on my 55 was just rockers and fenders. It turned out to be much worse. But my truck was in ID. This things looks like a desert truck.

WELL, WELL.....
I can't say I wasn't surprise when I found some rust but from my understanding it is common in these location which is the Driver/Passenger floorboards. My impression of a 99% rust free pig on wednesday is now a 95% rust free pig as of today. I'm sure a little more rust will pop up here and there but since I'm not to familiar with FJ55, this being my first, I need to search to find out the common rust spot on these pig's.
Here's the extent of rust .....(passenger side has the most rust, photo included)

I must have over looked the pricing question earlier but since I noticed it, now is the time to address it. For those of us who surf the craigslist.com site, we know there are deals to be had. I saw the add on tuesday, give the guy a call but no answer so I did what anybody would do " give me a call back and gave my name and number". The next day I receive a phone call, the guy says " hey you call about my truck for sale" and that's when it happened. The guy says " I'll be there today at 430pm because I going to be showing the truck to two guys, one from palmdale and one from Los angeles."
I immediately ask to see it before them of course but the guy was busy so then the question came to mine " can I see right now since the truck is about twenty minutes from me" the guy reply " sure thing". Well all now the outcome so in short is was a STEAL!!!
I bought the truck for Five Hondo, if you want you could say six hundred because I'm giving him the one hundred on top of the five when I pick up the 2Fmotor that was siting beside the truck in the first picture.
I still wondering if that's a good deal because I remember Rob asking me right before we made the deal " are you sure you want to buy this" with the hidden message of " if you don't buy it, I sure as hell will."
$500 which hence the name Fiv'er or johnnyfive.

Okay, its been more then a year now but the motor is in and this rig is road worthy minus the windshield.
So, if any one as a lead on an FJ55 windshield with in the IE please let me know.
