Yeah, that trip will be on hold until we get back. Sacrificed part of my 60 fund post-jewlers visit (breathe slowly, rub index middle finger and thumb together, chat. . .).

I'm thinking she'll be back on the road in maybe 3-4 weeks. 1-2 weeks at my current shop, then to the axle shop for the axle swap, suspension swap, brake swap, and front end rebuild.

Then. . .I'm going to drive the bastard for a bit before she goes to the interior shop.

Then...will surrender again for 2-3 months at the interior shop.

But not before surrendering for the paint job.

Maybe 3-4 months before she's back in the stable for a bit. . .then the motor swap after I recover - or start working 5-6 days a week =)

And drove across the lake to meet a fellow mud member (Jim Godwin) today:

Super nice guy and a total pleasure to meet.

Ok, may need some of them parts just too have!
Keep me posted.

Copy that...but to be straight forward, I'll probably sell everything as a whole. I'll post when they're cleaned/sorted, just let me know.

Your truck is really coming together Shane, it'll be a new 60 when complete :)

Thanks and I appreciate the compliment very much.

I met with Jim Godwin yesterday and we ended up talking (while sitting on the tailgate of his FJ60) for quite a while. While we were chatting and going thru different mods on his own rig, I realized....I mean, trust realized how obsessed I am with my 60. Decided I need an intervention but then my ADHD kicked in and I forgot about it...so decided to skip the then-forgotten intervention and proceed with more parts, lol.

I'm cursed. . .

Shane, Its really not a disease its just a way OF LIFE! I have Goss, "Tank" 2 into 1 FJ40 project and now another 40 coming in next week (I hope) and a possible '79 Piggie on the horizon.. I have a great life with A, but man the pure satisfaction I get from building these cruisers and helping out other guys... PRICELESS!

J

Agreed 100%, J. Few passions I've had/pursued have been as exhilarating and rewarding at that of the FJ60/Land Cruiser.

Nice summation of the afternoon.

A great time. Talking with Shane was kinda like walking up to a tornado. The words were flying by and we were bouncing between topics, first on 60s then off on another topic, back to 60s, zing on to a new topic. I had a blast meeting Shane.

That comment summarizes my day-to-day 100%. Just got off the phone with Onur - both of us complimenting you. It was a true pleasure meeting you and enjoyed the time immensely.

Godwin is on a special list i keep upstairs of MUD members that i would love to meet in person and have that 60 tailgate chat that you experienced today.
Class act. I am glad and proud that i have Godwin parts in my restoed 60.

So, pulled the wheels off today - sold the Fuel Revolver/Cooper AT3's to a really nice active duty Navy guy. Anyhoo, took a few more pics of the desmog progress and other general 'stuff':

S, good to hear you found a home for the old rims/tires so fast. No need for the spacers with the new rims, right?

Dude, the jack stands on the gravel are making me nervous from here.

And desmog/exhaust stuff that's on the chopping block:

Next two weeks:

1. OEM wheels from powder coater, mount/balance BFG T/A KO2's.

2. Finish desmog, custom exhaust, R&R power steering pump/pulley, steering box/shaft, alternator, battery cables, valve job.

3. Finish prep work & install Jason's armor (finally).

4. Then to axle shop: swap powder coated & rebuilt axles, new brake system, R&R OME lift, rebuild front end.

Hooah!
