Lil' John,

Please take pictures of all that. I read your post three times and still can't see it , in my mind. I am pretty thick

Just a thought, John, but I don't think I'd be drilling holes in my frame

I have an aftermarket front sway bar on mine. I don't know where my friend got it, but he sold it to me along with another pig attached to it. I'll get a photo or two tomorrow. I built removable links for wheeling. Works great for the road and it really handles well with a SUA 4 inch lift.

Here ya go. The sway bar passes under the axle and connects to the frame via the link. The link has a pin that one can pull and it allows it to pass upwards through the upper connection point and bushings. The pin replaces the nut that would normally hold the link stationary in the upper and lower bushings. ( make sense?) Anyway the sway bar is attached to the axle via a clamp like jobby with a bushing. That is the part at the forward bit of the axle with the yellow bushing.

Here is a shot of the front, showing the connection at the axle.

I hear ya, John. But some good sized holes. no matter how well plated and sleeved, between the front and rear motor mounts just doesn't sound right to me.

Power steering mods affect the frame horn, you're affecting the "middle" of a major structural section

i have a crazy idea,,,,, unbolt the rear suspension from a 2wd subaru, remove a few of the oddball unneeded parts like shock mounts ect, then bolt it to the frame and attach the arms to the axle with links.

its something i was mulling over once upon a time for a helper suspension on the rear of the pig when loaded, its real simple to adjust how much "spring" you want.

They make 2WD Subi's?

anyone else that has done these before. it crazy that they dont have them being soo heavy and all

Well, I really can't say that I've ever really thought of Pig body roll as a problem. Maybe I'm just used to it or maybe I just drive at 2F speed...

same for me, body roll bigtime but i dont consider it a problem.

deans you mention body roll going down the hiway, i only get it if i want to make it happen otherswise its straight as an arrow. do you have a steering problem or something causing your rig to sway down the rd?

remember that 55s got rear sway bars, do you still have yours?
