Sorry to dig up an old thread, but I just came across this today, with my 2002 FZJ105R australian model land cruiser.
It doesn't have o2 sensors or cats.
This is a variable pot, and ideally you should adjust it, in minimal increments, so that at idle, the injectors are around 3.0-3.4 ms, once the engine has warmed up and at idle.
You need a very fine flat head screwdriver to adjust it, and be careful, as it only has around 180 degrees turn, otherwise you'll tear the traces of the PCB and be up for a new one.
Mine was idling very rich, sitting around 6+ms...but when I tried to adjust it, I found that the PO must have stripped the adjustment screw, as I couldnt get a hold of it.
Going to order a replacement.
Apparently, you can bypass it with a cheap jaycar or similar potentiometer, but I'd prefer to keep things OEM, so I'll get around to buying the original.
