I’ve looked everywhere for one to buy but no luck. Can only find 2” receivers that won’t work because of bolt pattern. Can anyone fab one up for me? I wanna have it bolt on just like the current one Thanks

P&R trucks has a bolt on 2” Ball/Pintle hitch for . about $70 last time I checked. 20 ton or something like that. There’s also a Curt 2” receiver that’s fir a Mitsubishi Montero that has the same price.

Mark’s Off Road also had one.

Friend of mine has on one the back of her BJ74 but I leave today for 6 weeks. Won't see it until then.
It's not really a good idea, it shows signs of deformation from load stress.

Although I might not trust it for 4000 lbs

What I have. Just snapped these as I disconnected the batteries. There should be four bolts through the bottom but I don’t have wiring so I don’t use it regularly. But those are gr 8 bolts up top with nuts and lock washers.

Yeah, the step on mine had to go. Be easy enough to fab something up over it.
I‘m hoping to find one of the Land Rover spring steps. Just haven’t got there yet.
They are really cool, work well.

Trouble is, your aluminum step is probably going to be in the way of most these options.

I guess it depends how attached you are to the stock bumper...

The step part comes off without impacting the rest of the bumper. Mine came to me with that step part missing as some previous owner had long since removed it.

I won’t be towing anything. I just wanted some place to put wood etc. when going camping. I am going to use one of these. I thought about removing the step on the rear bumper but I wanna keep it. I would love a 2” receiver but a 1.25” receiver might have to do because of bolt pattern. Thanks for the help. I think getting one made is going to be the cleanest look on the bumper

Flipped over, a chunk of 4” angle, and a couple gussets and you’re set.

Heavy enough angle and you could possibly skip the gusset(s).

Keep in mind, the load from a platform like that is far greater than the weight on it (leverage).

On my other rig I use one with its Class V hitch that’s rated for 1600 lbs tongue weight.

I’ll keep the load under 200lbs so it should be fine. Thanks for the heads up, don’t want to lose it on the road

I took the step off but I’m having no luck finding a hitch. Only one that I can find that would work is the CURT one but I can’t find a bolt pattern so I’m unsure if it will fit. Even tried calling CURT, I just get an automated machine that puts me on hold forever. Nobody ever answers. Someone wanna make me one?
