Nav to Non-Nav Conversion Walkthrough (13 Viewers)

Has anyone heard of these hvac control boards failing? I did the conversion back back in 2019 and it has been awesome with absolutely zero problems. However a couple of months ago, I came out to a hot truck, turned it on like the thousands of times before and there was zero power to the a/c. No lights. No sounds. No blowing air. I checked all fuses under the dash and hood, all good. It has been getting continually worse, the a/c will randomly turn off then back on about 15 seconds later, or after a smack from my hand. It happens about 30-40% of my drives. I have pulled out the head unit and controller several times checking all my wire connections and they are solid. I also replaced the alternator because it was on its way out, and I thought maybe wasn’t delivering full power to the hvac controller. It turned itself off again today with the new alternator. I can press hard on or smack just below the buttons and it will usually turn back on. I’m out of ideas except maybe the control board itself is failing. I have 88650-60771…any suggestions would be appreciated.

I don’t think it is a common occurrence. I’ve heard of one guy on a forum ordering a replacement a year or so ago for a clients car but nothing else. The OEM part number for the board has been discontinued if I’m not mistaken.

I’d probably take it apart and inspect the circuitry for any issues. Or maybe a loose connector inside the assembly like ribbon cables.

It's possible you need to swap out the A/C Relay. Mine just recently failed in my 03 and the $10 one on ebay is working fine after replacement.

I ordered this one exactly. It is not authentic Denso, but it has not given me any issues.

I currently have several climate controls for GX 2002-2009, 88650-60770, ...771, ...772, ...773. the price for 772 and 773 is higher, there are a couple of them in stock.
2. There are also side brackets.
3. I can solder the harness plug and play, it takes time and you will have to wait a few days.
4. I can solder harnesses for steering wheel buttons for radios with 3.5mm mini jack like in Pioneer, Sony radios.
5. There are OEM frames for 2DIN radios in black, if necessary, I can paint for an additional fee, in the color of GX470.

@ZIDCONPRO I'll take a No navi kit for a GX2004. Question will both the 88650-60771 and 88650-60770 work for my year or will it have to be a specific one based on time of year my vehicle was built?

771 for GX470 11/2004-08/2005

Well, I bought the A/C control i needed and unfortunately the place i bought it from sold it twice that day and I was the 2nd person. No A/c controls for me now

only through soldering in Celsius can be converted except 11/2002-10/2004

771 for GX470 11/2004-08/2005

Okay I just check looks like my gx was made 11/2003. So the 770 would be what I need. Just let me know how much and how to pay

I have tried to look through the thread to understand, but if I am converting to non-nav and I have the ML amp, what adapter would I need for connecting the new head-unit itself to the amp? What I have seen in this thread is the following:

Beat-Sonic SLX-82AAD
or
PAC RP4.2-TY11

Would either work? Anything else I should consider?
