Mystery boxes. Any idea what they are?

After wanting one for a long time, I recently acquired a 1983 FJ60. I'm currently going through it, cleaning it up and fixiing some questionable wiring from the previous owner and found these. It has four of them, one inside each fender & quarter panel. There is a patent # listed but I couldn't find any info on it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Mark

Friend of mine guessed something similar. They look like they were wired with lamp cord. I'll dig up the patent #. Thanks

I appreciate your input. At first I was thinking the same thing but after doing some research, I confirmed mine is an earlier model, so no blinker fluid low fill sensor. It's just equipped with a sight glass on the side of the standard 8 gallon cast iron reservoir tank. Which is fortunate as I'm sure you are aware of the headaches involved with Blinker Fluid Sensors (BFS) especially if the previous owner gummed up the purge orifice by using the wrong viscosity blinker fluid. Ha, we all know what that means am I right? You are locked into a full BFS rebuild AND all new pressure diaphragms unless you want to risk getting stress cracks in the blast plate of your fetzer valve. (earlier models only).
