You screwed that one up.
I can’t tell where, I just know you did.
I’ll take it though, and even pay you for the materials to make another…
Deal?

The reality is I should've made two.

I don't have a ton of experience cutting metal. So I was bit skiddish cutting this and I've got a hand on the speed pot most of the time. If I tweaked the speeds I could probably press go and walk away now.

You ain't s***ten kitten.
I win the lottery tomorrow, I'm blowing $500k on a machining center and probably another $200k on tooling for it.

Who needs a lottery?

I can't believe how well this came out.

I sanded the face flat on the edge sander with 120g then worked through 400, 600, 1000, grits wet sanding it flat on a granite counter top.

I need to figure out a slick way to hit the chamfer on the edges, and the inside corners of the cross to clean up the mess I made with a hand file. Other than that, I'm quite pleased.

I'm planning on a field trip sometime this month to go visit some friends and the rig. Timing depends on getting work under control and whether there's anything to look at when I get there.
PRLC is lucky it's 1123 miles and a solid 18 hours to drive there. If it was under 10 hours I would make that drive more frequently.

Since I'm making wildly poor personal financial decisions, I decided to try and at least offset it by spending a wild amount of money that'll make me poor at work on a new CNC. Nothing like spending $150k on a new tool to get the blood flowing. 🤣
