Personally, I am partial to the SW part of town ;) Close to great parks, forests, and escape routes both west and south.

I like west creek which is about as far as divide. Woodland park is starting to get to busy for me. I got stuck in the motorcycle parade 2 years ago and it took me 1 1/2 hours to get through there, I was frustrated. I also like divide as well. My wife needs to be 30 minutes from the hospital so we are limited as of now. I took a couple trips out of state looking for a better scenario to live, but it is hard to beet colorado for trails, scenery and people that are willing to talk and help you.

We just had two new neighbors move in...both from Texas.

Good thing I'm not a Texan. Just a Missourian that resides in Texas.

I don't know man, how long have you been in Texas? You might have been converted without knowing it. Andrew got me thinking about Jeff Foxworthy, so....

You might be a Texan if...

... you're getting ready for your ski trip to Colorado, but instead of buying some ski pants, you decide to starch the hell out of your jeans.

... you like Ted Nugget and his music, but his gun control views are just too moderate for you.

... you don't understand why Coloradans look at you strange when your top-heavy, 12 inch ski high lift, never off-roaded, full size delux crewcab truck with bullballs hanging off the back takes up three parking spots.

.........:hillbilly:

FWIW, I've got several buddies from Tejas, so no hard feelings to any Texans that might take offense. Just having some fun. :D

Ha! I'm totally offended!
Anyway. I've been here for almost 11 years. It's not terrible, but I never intended on staying.

I've owned two big trucks (F250 and Excusion), but they're stock height. The F250 has seen mild wheeling and a lot of beach time. The Excusion hasn't seen any.
I might have been converted a little but nothing that can't be cleansed easily.

Speaking of offensive and Texas... A father of one of my daughter's friends mentioned in conversation the other day that: "you can't swing a dead dog on a rope without hitting a Texan around here anymore" haha. I got a pretty good chuckle out of that. It's only funny because if you ask any Texan, Texas is the "greatest state in the nation" ... funny they're all here.

We don't care though, we'll welcome you like family Andy. Heck, I'm a Louisiana native, and our president is a fellow Missouri'an.... We'll have you wearing flannel and talking like a Colorad'an in no time! :D

Right on. I did read somewhere that when texans do leave Texas. They move to Colorado.

New question: Those of you w/ kids..... How old are they?
I've got the two at the moment w/ one on the way. My daughter Dharma is 11. My son Ian is 3 and we have one more boy coming next month.

Hey everyone. Hope y'all had a great Thanksgiving! Been really busy around my house lately.
No new questions at the moment. I plan to hit the job market hard and heavy starting in Januarry.
We plan to make a road trip up there in March for my daughters spring break and hopefully have some interviews while up there.
Any way....... The newest family member was born on 11/11! He was 9lbs 3oz and 20.25" long. The wife went through 30 hours of labor and no epidoral!! She's stronger than I am that's for sure.
Here's a few pics of the litte, big guy.

Congrats man. Looks like a happy family.

Be sure to let us know when you're going to be up here. If you have time, we'll put together a local run.... or at least get together for a few:beer::beer:.

Thanks y'all.
I'll definitely let y'all know when we come up. As for doing a run..... Probably not. No plans for bringing the rig, just the family truckster. It is 4x4, but yeah..

Well........... Looks like my family and I will be headed up that way on Dec 29th and staying till the 3rd of Jan.
Wife was unsure if the March trip would be able to happen since she’s on maturity leave till February.
Anyway, my question is about my Diesel. I need to add some "anti-gel" to the fuel right?
It rarely gets colder than 30 here so I've never really worried about any fuel additives, plugging in the block heater etc.
Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Maybe we can meet somewhere for a beer or three.

Thanks y’all
Andy

No idea about the "anti-gel" as I've always been a petrol guy (although I'd love a diesel LC). I'll be off from teaching during that time so count me in for a frost beverage of two.:beer:

Most diesels have enough range that you can go from a location that runs straight #2 to a location that runs additives or blended fuels. I have had better luck finding Power Service products than some of the others. I generally added a bottle when I fueled up for the trip, by the time I filled up again I was in a area that was safe for the cold. Worked so far with my 5.9, 6.0, and now 6.7. Never a bad idea to carry an extra fuel filter just in case. Besides that the temps have been in the 40's. Lows have been in the teens. Bring an extension cord for your block heater if so equipped. Makes it easier on things for starting.

Thanks for the replies y'all.
We will be staying at the Residence Inn north off of Federal Drive.
Other than doing the train ride up Pikes Peak and going to Denver for a day we plan to hang around Springs and "scout" the area out.
I do want to take my kids somewhere they can go sledding. They've never done it. Any good places that y'all know of?
