You are awesome. And I did consider JB weld but the pressure in the system is too high.

I have oil seeps at VC gasket, and the pan...no drips but just slow seeps...

GL chasing...I'm going to steam my bay and then trouble shoot

Side note...

Who would y'all buy maintenance OEM parts from? Local dealer or have a place online y'all use?

I've got a few things I want to do before my next outing

Call Onur (user name Beno) at Larry H Miller Toyota of Alb NM for OEM. He'll take the time to talk you through issues and real nice guy.

Sam Stewart at Lowe Toyota in Warner Robbins, GA.

Got new tires today. Went with 285s and I'm getting a stock suspension replacement. Also got a new radio and 4 speakers today.

I also got a new key cut from Toyota but my doors still won't budge. So I'm taking off the door panels and cleaning the tumblers. If that doesn't work then I have to replace those too.

When are you getting rid of the brush guard? I think stock height and 33s is the best way to go.

Brush guard is going when I get a bumper. You interested in it?

Before you tear everything apart, have you tried putting some graphite in the locks and then working the key back and forth. This will sometimes free up the lock.

What type of tires did you decide on?

Went with General Grappler AT2. I really like them and they were under a grand and I got road hazard for 15 a tire. So if I puncture one on a trail it's covered.

I tried graphite but I ended up taking the tumblers out tonight on the drivers side and cleaned it and lubed it. So it works now. And it's a biatch to get it out, cleaned, and back in if it's the first time. I could do it in 30 minutes now though.

I also installed a fire extinguisher on my drawers and cleaned it up some more.

The only thing left are my AC parts from Onur then I'm ready to wheel.

Kait has generals and they rock! I can't wait to get a set of 315s and ditch the bfgs!

Can you give more detail into what was involved in doing this? My locks unlock with the key but don't lock. I haven't had Toyota cut a new key yet.

Just out of curiosity what does a new key from toyota cost? I tried to get an extra key cut from lexus and they wanted $92.50 for it, **** inverted keys.

You remove the door panel with the window up. Disconnect the three screws and pull all the connectors to get the whole panel off. The you will see the handle and tumbler. Remover the one 10mm bolt holding the tumbler in and follow the metal rod coming out of the tumbler to the blue plastic piece it is inserted into too. You will then unsnap the plastic piece off the rod and pull the L shaped rod out of where it is seated.

You will then insert the key and the tumbler will come out into the inside of the door. You can pop the metal retaining clip off and remove the spring and clean it with brake cleaner. I'll be happy to help you do it because it really is a pain the first time you do it. PM and I'll be glad to swing over sometime and help out.

On a side note mine will not lock either, only unlock and even that is iffy. What I really need is new tumblers but getting that $6 key really made all the difference to begin with.

I can't remember the old 80s I had but does the key unlock it on other peoples?

Just talked to Onur. The key should both lock and unlock the door. To get a replacement set of tumblers and an ignition tumbler and new keys is about $420. To get a new key fob (which I am missing) is about $60 and you have to have the factory alarm and program it. I'm going to to try a key fob because I am not concerned enough yet for $420.

Cleaning them helped a lot but they are just worn out. I would recommend if you are in the same boat to clean the first and remove them and do it right then see if that fixes it.

Get spacers and oME stock replace springs...my setup looked great with 285s

Nick

Has anybody messed with their power antenna to replace it with a normal not PITA type of antenna? My main question is, is the black cable taped on the top tube running into the dash the coax cabals into the radio?

Can I reuse it or do I need to use it as a guide to run new coax cable to the radio? My antenna was so corroded, when I tried to take off the crown cap it sheared off and now I have to order tons of parts or convert it to a normal one.

So I hope someone here knows how to mount a normal antenna and can help me...

That's what I'm going to do. Do you still have your OEM springs/spacers/shocks for sale from your old set up?
