Sorry I couldn’t make it man, you didn’t need hearing aides last time you helped me swap an engine!

Updating this thread with what has gone on this week. The 1FZ is on the way to California. The buyer is 10 miles from where my Troopy came from.

It is an HD. I need to clean the water port.

Clean that sucker out. Thats what it looks like inside. Also replace that fitting.

Muriatic acid wash for the block. Clean all of that cooling jacket. You don’t want that shït in your cooling and HVAC system.

Some updates on the engine. I pulled the con rod bearings, and they all looked good. Cylinder 5 did have a mark on the bearing surface but I was not able to feel anything with my fingernail. The crank was fine, too. That was the worst looking one.

So, with a suggestion from John at @Radd Cruisers , I plastigaged the Taiho STD to see how it measured against the #4 stock bearing.

Taiho STD measured to be around 0.002 inches.

The original #4 measured at .0015 inches.

The STD Taiho were on the high end of the standard oil clearance which was probably OK, but I decided to just order some #4.

This is for @OGBeno who gave me s*** about the bypass pipe (scroll up). Man, removing it was a pain in the ass! I ended up using a pilot bearing puller as recommended in another thread.
