My kid wanted a Jeep, she's getting a 77 FJ40 LS Swap instead

Just my 2 cents, I have a 2001 6.0, using stock radiator, mechanical stock clutch fan, and a shroud we modified a bit, runs 195. IMO lose the electric and aluminum.
No worries. My stock radiator was toast and I have had good luck with an aluminum radiator on my other 40. Unfortunately when I placed the motor I didnt leave enough room for a mechanical fan. Luckily the redux fan install was a success and my temps are doing a lot better. Sitting in the garage idling for almost an hour the highest it got was 217. Once I reaved it up it dropped 10+ degrees. I still might have some air in the system. I will use a mech fan on the next build.

5.3
Stock lm7 mechanical clutch fan
Champion LS swap fj40 radiator (My stock one wasn't great when pulled)
Relocated the radiator/radiator support down and over to center the fan better and get the lower hose to clear the fan
Using the stock 2F shroud with minor modifications. (Opened up the diameter of the hole for the bigger fan, added a small lip to get it to cover half the fan, also sectioned it horizontally into two pieces for easy removal in the future.

Do you happen to have any pics of your radiator mounts? Sorry for the hijack.

Took the truck for a drive the other day, almost had a coronary as the temp gauge was reading 240ish. Pulled the heater nob on and got it down to 215. When I got home, I hooked it up to my scan tool and checked the engine temps. The DD gauge is off by 20 degrees or more. Idling in the garage, the highest it got was 217. No signs of over heating and it ran well.

Today I let the kid drive while I was in the back, totally different experience. Kept cautioning her to take the turns slower as she was used to the 4Runner, of course being in the back is much more realistic as you are on fold down seats (BTW, glad I used the 4plus brackets as my fat ass would’ve collapsed the seat). She did take the turns slower after a while of constant badgering.
While at the in-laws the check engine light came on again, crap x2. Thought I fixed the issue but obviously not. Disconnected the battery and was checking the brake booster hose when I turned my head and saw the MAP sensor (light bulb moment). The retention clip was broke on one side, and the MAP sensor was loose. Broke out my new tool bag and zip tied the sensor. Seemed fine the rest of the trip and running around.
