Hi all..
Im Matt and I've been on the sight for a little while lurking around looking at different models and builds but was never an owner. Until now.
Im the proud new owner of a 2005 with 373K miles. I bought it local from a lady I know. The body is straight, the clear coat is starting to break down. The interior has the the normal wear and tear on it. But im excited to finally have one.

Congrats! Being in Georgia, I hope there’s no rust for you to deal with like my New England cruiser.

I’ll very likely be parting ways with my 100 soon due to rust but man it’s such a great vehicle. I just don’t think it’s worth hauling across the country for my move to the west coast. I highly doubt it’ll be my last 100 Series though - they’re just so well built. You’ll fall in love with yours very soon if you haven’t already.

Welcome! Any plans for it in the near future?
Thanks! Just to get all the fluids and filters up to date. Change the plugs and check compression. And look into doing the timing belt and water pump since I don't have a clear picture of when they were last done.

It's rust free from what I can tell. I just need to catch up all the maintenance on it. My 11yr daughter has already said she wants if I still have it when she turns 16. Lol

I'm assuming you've already checked for stickers? If there's no sticker then it probably wasnt a toyota dealership or reputable shop that changed the timing belt and you might as well change it for peace of mind

Anyways enjoy your new ride 👍

There is a sticker but it's not very clear it looks to be after 200k but yeah I already budgeted the money for the timing belt and water pump replacement. The plan is to get all this done before I put it into daily driver rotation.

Good Ol' Granny Tan color

Great color. It shows you’re an old soul and have the “keep off my lawn, you damn kids” mentality!

I probably need that color too!

sooo c'mon what'd you pay for it.
Granny...it's been sitting...it's "old" "lots of miles!"
$3500

Congratulations! I keep planting the seed with "grannies" at gas stations - one day one of em will bite! Excited to see you bring this one back to life!

I think you did well on this buy.

So sounds like it had one originally? There should be some empty spots on the roof seam where the feet would land for the side rails.

If not, you might have a rare "poverty" pack edition (or something like that). I think no sunroof, if the other tell-tale sign.

Thanks. Luckily the nail salon my wife goes too is attached to a boutique type store and the previous owner of the LC was in there talking about getting rid of it and another car she had to get a down payment for a new one. Thank goodness my wife was paying attention and knew I was looking for one.

Yeah the empty places are there and mine has the sunroof. Id like to put something up there sometime but I kinda like the slick look.
