well, look at this, a pretty girl joins 'Mud and posts her first thread and within a day it turns into a sausage fest. Go figure...

Can I "like" this more than once??

Welcome to Mud. Nice rig. My advice would be to remove the running boards and consider relocating the spare tire. Those things alone will give you a lot more ground clearance and the best part is it's free and takes about an hour. Plus, no need for a lift so you don't have to go through a big hassle when you get your inspection sticker. My wife and I used to live on Oahu and I had a Jeep with a 2 inch lift. It was hell to get an inspection sticker every time. HI has some way strict lift laws. The thing I miss most about Oahu (besides the scenery) is breakfast burritos at Kono's in Haleiwa.
Thanks for the advice, I didn't know and wouldn't have thought HI has strict lift laws. Haven't had the BBs at Kono's, will have to try them. Thanks!

Aloha,

Just go to Zippy's for breakfast, then wheel Kaena point but You might need a pass now, 10 yrs ago you didn't. 'Mud member @HIKCM is on Oahu too. You folks need to start a LC club in Hawai'i. Too bad the super ferry is shut down, you would've been able to explore Maui and Big Island with your rig.

Your pics look like it was taken by magic island?

Go get 'em sistah!

Welcome:flipoff2:. I would say let the fun begin, but looks I was late to the party. Hawaii is paradise on earth. Hope to return one day.

@Aloha Jen I live in colorado... If you ever need your front axle rebuilt, wiper blades changed or if theres a funny sound let me know I'll fly out and help.... :p

Oh and you bought the most capable truck for an area that has strict lift laws. These things are monsters in stock form, so way to go!

I think you guys are despicable.

I'm so done with you guys. I'm leaving this forum and am going to Hawaii to start my own 80 club. My club will have meetings every day around happy hour and, and, and, and...I will learn how to swim and other stuff. I will learn to teach CPR to specific members and provide an open atmosphere where I can help others look beyond the surface. Members will start every meeting off with a hug and Hawaiin Ice.

Im quitting my day job and headed to Hawaii, somebody needs cup holders.

Welcome Aloha Jen! This is my 3rd white/grey FZJ80, so you chose well IMHO. Not sure if anyone has mentioned the FSM yet - think of it as the Toyota "bible" of how your rig should be assembled, disassembled, maintained, repaired, and otherwise modified. It's the best $100 you'll ever spend, and mine has saved me exponential $$. I think it stands for Field Service Manual - best of luck to you!

Any pictures from your evening ride to the beach? Hawaiian sunset with your 80?

Aloha and Welcome to owning a LC on Oahu... Enjoy your new ride and this forum. Lots of great info and many members with many hours "elbows deep" in LC fluids and LC parts! They got Choke knowledge and lots of useful pointers just ask! Have fun with your LC and see you on and off the pavement!;)

I can't tell if you are being sarcastic....but as a matter of fact, I did take a Hawaiian sunset shot.

Great shot Jen! As others have mentioned, you want to remove the damage multipliers aka brush guard and tail light guards. Overall the truck looks great; it sounds like you found a cream puff there in Paradise! Invest in an FSM if nothing else, to be able to educate yourself on maintenance procedures and troubleshooting. Welcome to the addiction, BTW.
